Paper Flower Chapter 1 Novels & Stories

Just when I was about to give in to the need and stand up to go to the washbasin cabinet where I’d find the object that would relieve my need of pain, I heard something out in my room. I knew I shouldn’t, considering my fate wasn’t in good terms with me, but I grabbed a towel, wrapped it around my body and went out to inspect. Not two steps into the room I paused because there on my bed was a long stemmed flower resting on a small piece of paper. Dripping all over the floor I walked to my small bed, picked up the flower in one hand and the paper with another. It was a daffodil. A white one. Interesting.

The title page and table of contents looks normal, but I keep flipping pages to get to chapter one. Two more pages and I’m staring at the first chapter, titled “Finding a Companion.” I almost missed the title completely because my eyes were drawn to the center of the page where there was a rectangular shaped wooden box. All the pages had been cut through the center to fit this box inside, and there was something carved into the box. It was an image of the compass rose and the words “You’re My True North.” I glance back up to the first sentence of the chapter and it reads, “When preparing for an adventure, the first, and possibly most important, decision is who you will choose as your comp

She quickly packed the clothes and took them to the bathroom. "Make yourself comfortable. Sit," She pointed to the bed when she came back from the bathroom and saw that he was still standing. He walked to the bed and instead of sitting he bent over and took the scrambled piece of paper that lay there. Sasha's heart plummeted. He was not supposed to do that. He was invading her privacy. When he opened the paper, her heart melted. He read the paper aloud, "A flower trying to bloom against all odds…" "Will first have to break itself while trying…" Sasha concluded the line. This was a place where I could unwind and clear my head, the atmosphere always soothing. Stepping inside, my grin widened as I took in the sight before me. Only moments ago, I had been berating Kian for forgetting my birthday, but now my spirits lifted as I approached the bouquet of flowers on my bed. I sank down onto the bed, feeling it dip beneath my weight, and leaned forward to inhale the sweet fragrance of the blooms - it was tantalizing and wonderful. Suddenly, something caught my eye - a white piece of paper was tucked amongst the flowers. Curiosity piqued, I picked up the paper and slid it open.
