Lily whispered to Vandaulf. “I’ll do both,” he whispered back. The living room quickly transformed into a chaotic planning center. Helena was scribbling theme options on a whiteboard she brought—yes, brought—with her. “Option one: Cloud Kingdom. Option two: Raspberry Rainforest. Option three: Enchanted Garden, but with glittery bumblebees.” “Helena, the baby is not going to remember any of this,” Brenna said, though she was also gluing felt stars onto a baby mobile.

"What does that mean?" "Young dragons--well, relatively young, to you they would be very old indeed--have the great desires. It is they who kidnap princesses, crush knights, sack towns and generally make nuisances of themselves. Not unlike young humans, they have to find their way and that often includes some temper tantrums and fits of pique. Over time, they mature and the need to prove their potency to themselves diminishes. Like old humans, they get set in their ways and a nice long nap in the sunshine seems a much better way to spend a day than burning knights to a crisp or gobbling up maidens."

“These ones have frosting shaped like baby rattles. Is this vanilla or witchcraft?” “Both,” Chelsea said. “Also, don’t eat the ones shaped like dragon eggs—those are filled with lemon-lavender. They bite back.” As more pack members and allies arrived, music played from enchanted speakers (thank you, Chelsea), and the sound of laughter filled the air. There were games—some that involved blindfolded diaper changing and one suspiciously close to axe throwing that Charlie, of all people, dominated. “Did… did he carve that diaper genie out of a tree stump?” Jax asked, slightly alarmed.

Logan shrugged. Mirth stuck her tongue out. "Uh, I'll pass." As the materials Logan poured in became more and more precious, Logan looked grimmer and grimmer. He produced a humanoid figure of light with wings from his Bio Subdimension. 'Is that a birdman?' Mirth thought. Then Logan pulled out the dragon from the other day and forced it to empty its energy into the kiln. Mirth was stunned. The dragon was filled with thousands-of-years' worth of power. Using its energy as one of the components of this drug would be insane!

“I think you bought me my first one.” Parker sighed. “I did,” he replied. “I bought him a miniature bakery kit for Christmas one year. I created a monster.” Talia looked up at him. “I want one.” “What? One of Dad’s murder scenes?” Talia shook her head. “No. I want a miniature model kit. I want to try building one.” Parker sighed again. “Come on,” Talia wheedled. “You said I should try things I’ve never had a chance to do before. I’ve never even owned a dollhouse. I want to try building one of these.”

I would not be intimidated by a toddler with a worm. "I am Jean-Pierre!" I declared, slamming my fist onto the counter. A fresh cloud of flour poofed into the air, making me sneeze so hard my fake goatee fluttered. "I will make you ze greatest purple dragon in ze history of ze pastry! It will be so majestic, you will weep!" "Okay!" she shouted, dropping the worm onto a pile of expensive organic kale and climbing onto a stool. "I'm watching. Don't mess up."

If the old ‘blind ’em and run for it’ routine didn’t work we were more or less stuffed. The ball floated off my hand and the dragon’s head swung around and snapped its mouth shut over it. The ball disappeared down its neck. I produced another ball and the same thing happened. Then a third. Snap. Gulp. The thought racing around my mind was what if combining my magic with the dragon’s acid spray created some awesome OP weapon? Laser beam breath or even just plain old fire. We could at least wipe out some wasps like that. The dragon reared its head up and a gurgle ran down the length of its body.

Then I went to the kitchen table where Julie had left the drawings, weighted down with a crayon so they wouldn't slide, two pieces of paper in the particular bold lines of a four year old who doesn't yet know to doubt herself. The first was the dragon, which did look somewhat like a dog but had a convincingly fierce expression, and the second was a figure with long dark hair and a smaller figure on either side of her, all three of them holding hands, the sky above them full of yellow circles that might have been stars or might have been suns, Julie having not yet settled on the distinction. I sat down on the kitchen floor with my back against the cabinet, still in the dress, the premiere som

Not in a thousand centuries. My hands dance along the hard yet brittle shells of my little ones and I watch in joy and amazement as little lights within shine in response--Three new celestial dragons, each one unique, curled up inside their temporary confinement, their small talons stretching to touch the walls, so close to emerging. Any moment now they’ll begin tapping on the shells, forcing their little clawed hands outward as they press, kick, and bite their way out.

Music recommendation: After dark by Mr kitty The Dragon released its fire on the moving corpses as it soared through the sky and to its greatest surprise the corpses when reduced to ashes would instantly reform it's self to their original form, realizing attacking the corpses was pointless she searched for Leonard knowing taking out its source would release the spell.
