I chuckled, “that I don’t have a getaway route? I am your son.”
I was exaggerating, of course. But I wasn’t going to feed my people to that beast.
He would never get them. “Well,” Argadon said with a contemplative look, “let my posse in.”
“An oath, Father,” I smirked.
“Give me an oath.”
The demon bared his teeth, but obediently repeated the words of the oath.
Never harm, directly or indirectly, you and those under your protection, as well as your country.
