I blinked rapidly, trying to force clarity back into my vision. It felt as though the air was thick, suffocating, and the room I was in was dimly lit, with shadows creeping up the walls. My arms felt strangely heavy, and it wasn't until I tried to move them that I realized they were bound. Panic surged through me like ice water in my veins.

Hello, readers! We are officially approaching the explosive climax of Volume 1 at Chapter 26. Kaela's journey is a three-volume book, and writing this first instalment has been an absolute joy. I want to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who has added this story to their libraries and supported my daily updates. Your support means everything to me. Volume 1 is all about Kaela’s survival and self-discovery. She had to learn who she truly is inside a brutal world she didn’t design, uncover dark secrets that were hidden from her, and finally step into her own raw, dangerous power.

The first pages of the book were typically a story of my mother's childhood, teenage life and all that, nothing worth reading. But as I went further, my eyes caught a text written in bold letters. “The one to mend the bridge between two worlds.” “What does that even mean?” I scoffed, reading further. After about ten minutes of glancing through each page aimlessly, I was fed up. “This is trash,” I muttered, closing the book. “Waste of my precious time,” I added, my face twisted in a frown. But just before I dropped the book, a little paper fell from it, landing on my thighs.

She smiled up at him, her expression unnervingly serene. "Uh... hi," Mars said, creeped out. "You dropped this," she chirped, holding out the book. A Light That Changes Fate. "What? The book!" he gasped, snatching it from her. With a flick of her wrist, the world around them froze. The bus, mid-approach; a man, mid-sip of coffee; a leaf, suspended in its fall. Silence descended, thick and absolute.

A much better world.” He lifts his head at once. “Yes!” He nearly hops in place, sudden energy flashing through his grief. “Of course I remember!” “It was called Selene’s Kingdom,” I continue, tightening my fingers around his hand, grounding myself as much as him. “Wolves like us and all of Selene’s creations go there when their purpose in this world has ended.” I manage a smile, though it feels fragile, like it might shatter if I hold it too long. Nicholas frowns, confusion knitting his small brows together. We stop walking.

The buildings, the clothing, literally everything without forgetting about the four-wheeled vehicle. Zayn had seen the 1979 Chevrolet C10 truck on his first day and that was what alarmed him the most. This was a myth, something he read in the books when he was a child. His mother would make sure he finished a book per day to prepare him for the throne which he would one day ascend. How can he forget the books about 'The other World'?
