Beatrice Beecham's Ship of Shadows

Beatrice Beecham's Ship of Shadows

Agnes was barely able to keep the contents secured within the binding. “Giddy goodness, Agnes, that book doesn’t seem to want to come to our aid without a fight,” Maud said. “Happen so,” Agnes chuckled. “Maybe I should split the pages into a few volumes, but it just doesn’t seem right separating them. History belongs in one place.” “So what’s the story in these here pages?’ Maud said as Agnes turned the sheets, the act creating thick crinkling sounds about them. Agnes rubbed at her nose.

True love's first kill

True love's first kill

Ansel answers his eyes shining with unshed tears for his pack. The library is 2 stories. The first is very much like a human library, divided into sections, childrens, young adult, non fiction, history, ect. They second houses spell books, the histories of the packs, and other books that we need permission to read these are on cage like shelves with locks on the front. Ansel follows my line of sight as I am looking at these cage's and he says "We will be breaking those locks when the time comes. But for now we have plenty to be getting on with, and I don't want to draw too much attention to us just yet."

Bound by Crystals and Shadows

Bound by Crystals and Shadows

Without realizing it, my feet carried me toward them, drawn by a quiet curiosity that settled deep in my chest. As I moved closer, I noticed how the vines had woven themselves into the shelves, their roots curling around certain books as though claiming them. Some volumes were partially hidden beneath leaves and stems, while others remained untouched, their titles clearly visible. I reached out slowly, my fingers brushing along the spines as I read them one by one, trying to make sense of why a place like this would hold so much knowledge. It seemed almost out of place at first, but the more I thought about it, the more it began to make sense.

LORENZO, MY FATHER'S BEST FRIEND

LORENZO, MY FATHER'S BEST FRIEND

The bookshelf along the far wall. His books were organized the way you'd expect from him — tactical manuals, combat theory, a row of fiction I'd been slowly working my way through. I let my fingers walk across the spines. Paused on a battered field manual, the cover soft from years of handling. I pulled it out. Something fluttered from between the pages and fell.

Resurrected (Book #9 in the Vampire Journals)

Resurrected (Book #9 in the Vampire Journals)

Her back and joints were stiff, her eyes were hurting from the non-stop reading, and she had already sneezed way too many times from the dust. The book she was reading now was a huge, oversized volume with thick leather binding, cracked along the spine. It probably weighed ten pounds, and was at least twelve inches wide and long. She had it opened to the middle of the book, and each page she turned crackled with age. The pages were thick, so much thicker than those of modern books, and yellow with age. It was a physically gorgeous volume, published in 1661, interspersed with hand-drawn illustrations, some of them in color. Caitlin turned the pages with the utmost care as she went, not wantin

Echoes of Moonfire

Echoes of Moonfire

~Kyle The book didn’t look like much at first to be honest. If anything, it looked too old and too pathetic to carry any useful information. The pages were yellowed, the cover half-eaten by time and maybe rats, and the spine crackled every time I turned a page. Nothing screamed forbidden in this book—but then again, the real ones never did.

The Alpha's Obsession

The Alpha's Obsession

In the center stood a grand pedestal, upon which rested an ancient tome. Leori and Adonis approached the pedestal with a mix of reverence and anticipation. The tome beckoned to them, its pages filled with the accumulated wisdom of generations past. As Leori opened the book, the words inscribed within seemed to come alive, whispering secrets of forgotten realms and uncharted possibilities.

Werewolf Academy

Werewolf Academy

My steps fall silent occasionally as I cross large, intricately woven rugs scattered about. I head straight for the aisle Celeste pointed out, offering her a small wave before disappearing between the labyrinth of bookshelves. Each section is marked with hand-carved plaques, their inscriptions barely legible in the dim light. They guide the way to different realms of knowledge: Alchemy, Herbology, History, and more. The books themselves are bound in various shades of leather, some adorned with golden leaves, others with intricate metal clasps. Many are so ancient that their titles have worn away, leaving only the texture of the leather to hint at the secrets within.
