I felt sorry for the fact, silently wishing for a world where she could return. But now I’m sitting on my bed, giving a small yawn as I check the time. It’s still a little early and despite being tired - I don’t necessarily want to climb into bed. Instead, I perk up a little as I propose the idea of a bedtime snack, hoping I can sneak some of the cookies Ruth made.

The room comes into view with Ariel standing clutching my cover as she shot me a look of disdain. “The last time I checked you're not Adrain and you don't own the house so let me sleep.” I murmured, scratching my eyes with a yawn. My eyes run into the clock. It's past 12pm. I barely had enough sleep when I retired to rest as I interrogated every thing in the goddamn room and when I got tired to the extent I couldn't move a muscle I retired to bed.

I told myself it was nothing. I’ve been telling myself that for years. Tonight is a classic Jake sleepover: pizza, beer, PlayStation, crashing in the guest room because I’m too buzzed to drive. Jake passed out on the couch around 1 a.m. after losing spectacularly at FIFA. I stumbled upstairs, stripped to boxers, collapsed face-down on the queen bed in the spare room, and was half-asleep when the door creaked open. Soft footsteps. The faint click of the door shutting. The mattress dipping beside me.

But I just had to leave for my room around 8 PM. Tried to read. Can't focus. Tried to watch something. Can't pay attention. Tried to work. Useless. Just waiting. For what? I don't even know. 8:30 PM. Nothing. 9:00 PM. Nothing. 9:30 PM. Nothing. Mom and Dad went to bed around 10 PM. The house went quiet. I was in bed. Lights off. Just lying there. Is he asleep? I don't know. I couldn't take it anymore.

HE'D MAKE US SLEEP BETTER. Huh....go away Moonlight....what happened to 'he is not my mate.' ITS IN THE PAST...GO TO MATE NOW...I WANT MATE. Please let me sleep Moonlight. For the sake of God...Buddha...the moon goddess....fate...for the sake of the peace of the night. NO....YOU HAVE TO GO TO MATE. It's almost twelve midnight already...we arrived from the date an hour ago...now Moonlight won't let me sleep.

Jace also enters the bed on the other side and pulls me into his chest. I hadn't realized how sleepy I was until now. I yawn silently and look at the clock. It is fifteen minutes past four o'clock in the morning. I have never slept this late in my whole life. But At least I can go to sleep hoping that tomorrow will be a good day. After winning this battle of Dwayne, there is nothing in this world that we won't be able to defeat. Jace whispers a good night to me and switches of the lights.

After dinner, Amy couldn’t get some sleep, no matter how hard she tried. She closed her eyes for several minutes, hoping it would help her fall asleep, but nothing worked. Why can’t I fall asleep? She wondered, tossing and turning on her bed. After some minutes, she gave up trying, and got out of bed, heading for her dad’s bedroom. He was the only person who could help her when she was having trouble falling asleep. She only hopes he’s still awake, but she doubts that, since it’s already pass midnight.

Chapter 16 The night was not young anymore, it was 1:15, but I still could not fall asleep, I turned and turned on the bed, I got up and paced round the room. “Charity you are not a night crawler, my love get some sleep your pacing is disturbing my sleep” Tiffany spoke “Sorry” I whispered in reply

ELVIS POV As I shut my bedroom door behind me, I leaned against it, exhaling a long, weary breath. The ghosts of my past hovered in the dim silence, threatening to take over, but I couldn’t let them. Not now—not when the stakes were higher than ever. Pushing away from the door, I moved toward the bed and collapsed face-first onto it, desperate to sink into its embrace. Sleep was the only escape I wanted tonight. Just as my body began to surrender to exhaustion, the piercing trill of my phone shattered the quiet. I groaned in frustration, assuming it was either Noah or Leo playing a prank at this hour. Ignoring the call, I buried my head in the pillows and willed myself back to sleep.

We broke apart once more and he stared down at me for a long and torturous moment before saying: “Come, let’s go to bed, it’s late”. *end*
