The tension in the air thickens as all eyes turn to Kane’s wife. Nana sighs, suddenly looking tired. “No, he hasn’t,” she mutters, gaze fixed on her own reflection in the water. “Not necessarily.”
“And he doesn’t have to explicitly say it,” Christana adds with a casual shrug that seems too studied to be natural. “He called her Mrs. Mustafin.” Her eyes flick between Sophia and me, a hint of satisfaction in her voice. “As far as we’re concerned, at least within the walls of this house, they’re married.”
