Shattered Bonds
Even in the dark, they glow as if made from gold.
She inclines her head at Hera and we slowly move closer to the deer, not wanting to startle her. Usually, deer refuse to be around wolves. They are natural predator and prey after all. This one, though, looks like anything but prey. She looks like she’s a predator in her own right.
As we approach her, she stands very still, letting us get closer. Hera takes a deep breath, sniffing her.
‘Magic.’ Hera whispers in our head, as if the deer can hear us.
