Skye let through a little bit more of her power. “Showoff,” I teased her via link. “If you’ve got it...” she trailed off in a giggle. “She’s a white wolf.” “There’s never been a white wolf before.” “She must be the Moon Goddess’ daughter.” “She’s powerful.” “She’s beautiful.” These are the comments that were going around as Skye approached Darrin. As a wolf, she was still taller than the guy as she looked down at him, daring him to say anything else. He gulped and stepped back, almost falling over. I was still watching her when a little boy tugged at my leg.

I shook snow from my pelt and stretched my body out again, cracking my spine. Moments later, Skye emerged in human form, squinting in the sudden blinding light. He wrapped his arms around his middle and shivered. "Fuck its cold.” He grumbled. “Let me see your paws." Skye began tearing strips off his shirt and gave me a pointed look when I huffed at him. "Kendra, your paws are bleeding. You can't just expect me to not treat them." I huffed but lay down so that Skye could tie the makeshift bandages to my feet.

Drax, made from wild fungi and ethanol, was banned within the city limits but could be legally purchased and consumed in the Drock. Mother’s message was particularly relevant today, as my age now permitted me entry. Her second message was not to take unnecessary risks on the ice peaks I planned to climb, a message she knew I always ignored. The third was one I had received continually since my early childhood: “Skye, do not, under any circumstances, exercise your powers and bring attention to yourself.” I had asked why many times, only to receive the same answer. “Because I forbid it.” Or, as I grew older, “Because we have a special ability that can be dangerous and must be concealed.”

I clenched my fists, my wolf stirring inside me. I turned back to Skye, "It seems we have to postpone our conversation, there's something that requires my immediate attention." Her gaze flickered with concern as she looked at me, "What's happening?" I shrugged, "Trouble, most likely." I didn't want to tell her it was Jayleen. Not yet, not until I was sure of her loyalty. She nodded, her brows furrowed. As I turned to leave, I felt a strange sensation. I looked back to see Skye staring at the painting. She was more than her mother's daughter; she was a witch and she had powers. Powers that could help us.

Skye had told me that I wasn’t able to tell anyone and I had to keep it hidden. When I was around anyone, she would disappear so others couldn’t sense her. She was a beautiful wolf, I don’t understand why she wanted to hide. But I hadn’t questioned her reasons. Skye was a large black wolf with vibrant blue eyes and she had a white crescent moon on her left hip.

Suddenly, footsteps approached, and she swiftly rushed back to the bed, hiding the phone beneath the pillow. The Boss entered the room without knocking, standing silently at the entrance, locking eyes with Elena. "Puppy," he coldly smirked, advancing further. His eyes were on her, adorning her beauty. He moved directly towards Elena, who sat on the bed, her heart pounding so fiercely it felt like her ribs might crack. She clenched her legs together, praying fervently for the police to arrive soon.

Gabby informed him. Xavier didn’t seem surprised; instead, he looked amused. “Tell me, what has she done this time?” he inquired, smiling at Gabby, but she didn’t return his smile. When he noticed how serious she looked, his smile faded. “Is it that serious?” “She strayed into Dark Moon Pack, and the Alpha has her,” Gabby responded, and Xavier chuckled softly. “Is that why you’re so worried? Calm down, Gabby. I’ll send my men out. Alpha Aeros is an old friend, and he’ll be more than willing to cooperate.”

I probably don’t deserve it after everything that happened with Tatiana and King, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting that love. As we get closer to the packhouse, I see a flurry of activity. I tap into the pack link and am almost amused at the chaos. Skye has definitely been missed, and Aston is tearing the pack up to find her. I shake my head and look down at my little friend. I almost laugh out loud when I realize that she’s fast asleep, clinging to me. I open a mindlink to Aston and Katarina. I believe you are looking for something. Have you found her?

His voice had that dangerous edge I knew too well. "It's my fault," Selene interjected with a theatrical sigh. "I made all my favorite dishes today. It's natural for Skye to be upset on her first day back. Skye, what would you like? I can prepare something else." Her eyes gleamed with triumph and challenge. But these tactics couldn't anger me anymore. "She's a grown wolf now, not some delicate pup. If you can eat it, so can she," my brother growled. "Skye, stop making everyone uncomfortable. Be sensible for once."
