When it opened its mouth, I saw rows of teeth no human should have. "Silver rounds," Cain ordered. "Aim for center mass." They opened fire and the creature shrieked. It kept coming even with bullets hitting it, moving faster than anything that size should be able to move. Ryder dropped his rifle and shifted. One second he was human and the next he was a massive black wolf charging at the creature. They collided in a tangle of fur and claws and those horrible teeth. Jax and Cain kept firing but were careful not to hit Ryder. The creature was strong and fast but Ryder was stronger. He got his jaws around its throat and bit down hard. Her glowing aura intensified, and she pulled a small amulet from her pocket. “Stay back,” she said, her voice firm. Ryder didn't waste tim shifting into his wolf form, a massive, monstrous beast covered in brown fur. With a deafening roar, he lunged at us, but he ran into an invisible barrier, stopping him in his tracks. He clawed and snarled at the shield, his rage shaking the very ground beneath us.

My heart pounded with exhilaration as I protected our group. I lunged at our foes. My claws raked through fur and flesh, sending one werewolf sprawling. Another tried to sink its teeth into my flank, but I twisted away, delivering a crushing blow to its ribs. Blood sprayed in the hot afternoon air, and my heart pounded with exhilaration.

Ryder suddenly had a genius idea, he smiled devilishly and cleared his throat. "But Ava isn't the only one responsible for saving the kids. Someone else helped her fight the rogues. Pounding on his door, he wakes up and opens the door slowly. "What is it?" He says before Ryder shoves the door open all the way and forces his way inside. "Help her, she says the pups are dying.
