Audrie doesn’t have to question if she belongs here or try to prove her worth. The week goes by fast. I’m feeling the most “at home” I have felt since Grandma June was alive. Audrie and I have become fast friends. She has introduced me to her friends on the patrol group, Tate, who usually mans the gate, Connor, Paul, Liz, and Anna. They turned up the intensity at training, said there was the possibility of rogue threats in other packs and we should all stay vigilant on our shifts.

The pup sniffed at the air before it ran further inside. “Alpha Mike!” A male werewolf saw the pup limping toward him and cried out in delight to the packmates behind him. “It’s the lost pup! We found it!” When Mike, an Alpha of another pack, saw the pup’s injured leg, he frowned. “Someone’s bandaged his leg.” The pup whined and bit down on Mike’s robe before tugging him along. “I think he wants you to follow him…” “Let’s go.” The pup barked and brought them to Zoey’s side.

Victorious. Walking back to the heart of our camp, I couldn't help but notice the joyful faces around us. Young children tumbled and played, their energy contagious. And as the pups, babies born during their parents on their wolf forms, caught sight of me, their Luna, their tails wagged furiously, tongues lolling in canine grins. Their excitement was palpable, their loyalty unwavering. I crouched down, allowing the pups to swarm around me, nuzzling and licking in affectionate frenzy. Standing amid the remnants of their madness Paws couldn’t be more relieved to find Feral safe and sound with not even a hair out of place. He didn’t know why his human was completely uninvolved in all the chaos nor did he care, all he cared about was that he was safe.

Ashford said. Just then, Luna stopped a pup on a tree above the monsters. He was clutching tightly to the branches, and the one he held was snapping. Luna's eyes widened; if the kid could fall, he was going to fall to his death. The monsters were going to get him, so she moved away from the tree she was hiding. Ashford held her hand. "What are you doing?" "Saving him." Luna answered, pointing at the pup in the tree. Ashford followed her gaze and found the pup, who had called Neon ugly, in the tree. His jaw clenched, and he glanced back at Luna.

All the terror and fright vanish from Rose's face as a calmness washes over her. She lowers herself to her knees and reaches out to the puppy, asking, "Hey, little guy. Are you lost?" The dog continues to wag its tail, barking in response. Rose can't help but laugh, her fear replaced by joy as she scoops the puppy into her arms. The pup showers her with affectionate licks, and she exclaims, "Aren't you cute?" Engulfed in newfound happiness, Rose carries the puppy close, feeling a sense of companionship and warmth in their connection.

I said pointing to the rogues on the ground now being surrounded by this packs patrol and Zach stared down at them in shock. I picked up the pup and held him to my chest whispered sweet nothings in his ear while rocking him back and forth in my lap.
