Tranquility
Beatrice's eyes lit up, and she put on a smile with a touch of coyness, saying, "Sis, I've run out of living expenses. Can you lend me some money? I promise to pay you back next month."
"I’ve got no money," I declined decisively.
Beatrice blocked my way and raised her voice, "Sis, we're sisters by blood. I know you have three jobs and make a good amount of money. Can you lend me some? I promise I'll pay you back."
Many students were present during the classroom break, and everyone was curious to see the conflict between siblings.
Seeing all the attention, Beatrice became even more smug, puffing up her chest and looking at me with a triumphant expression.
