“I’ve seen people pray before, but not quite like that?”
Rai smiled and waited before placing the fork in her mouth. “It’s more like a gratitude thing, rather than a prayer. Are you religious?”
“No, not really. My family are proud Christians, but I never received the elation they tend to have.
“Mm,” replied Rai, slowly chewing the salty, yet lean piece of meat in her mouth. “I understand.”
“Are you?” he asked.
She shook her head. “I guess I’m more spiritual than religious. I practice something between Shamanism, Buddhism, and Druidry, I suppose. They all seem to resonate with me.”
