The next morning smelled faintly like the rain that poured in the middle of the night. I zipped up my backpack and met Percy and, surprisingly, Davin at the usual spot near the gate.
“Morning, generals,” Percy said, adjusting her oversized hoodie. “Mission one: survive school without tripping over our own excitement about the wedding.”
Davin smirked. “Somehow, I think you won’t survive without tripping, Percy.”
