The Moon's Dark Embrace
As numbskull as it is, particularly given my current circumstances, for a minute all I can do is gaze at them. They’re greater than I would have anticipated for blessed messenger wings, but at that point once more, perhaps that’s what it takes to bolster a human body. They’re extended out evenly on either side of my body, the plumes pearlescent in the light, and I’m briefly struck by panic—how do I control them? But it turns out it’s not much diverse than lifting your arm; it’s sufficient for me to think around it, and at that point I’m collapsing them up at my sides, taken a small aback by the weight of them.
