The man smiled at the dog's antics, clipped a leash onto Bear's collar, and walked toward me, the dog trailing behind him. I stood up and offered a polite, social smile. "You have a very cute puppy." The guy seemed friendly. He gave me a small smile and replied, "Thanks. Are you from the city?" "Yes, I'm from New York."
