“Dad didn’t say.” “What do Triquetras do?” Cameron kicked off his shoes. “F-k the same woman,” Rhett leered as he rose to his feet. He ground out his cigarette under foot, before stepping on the side of his sneaker so that he could pull his foot free. His feet were as pale as the rest of him, his skin seeming to glow in the night. His feet were oversized showing the promise of a growth spurt in the near future, long boned, and oddly innocent looking in contrast with his expression. “Which we do already.”

It feels comfortable to be in it but I feel too exposed for my liking. Leaving the safety of the hut, I trudge forward seeking their packhouse. I must tour their soil bare feet, is this why Phobos motivated me to do so when I was a pup claiming it was a way to be wild and free?

ALAYNA’s POV The second the banquet ends, I yank my heels off. “Finally,” I breathe, wiggling my sore toes in the cool grass. Those heels were instruments of torture. Ezra chuckles beside me, reaching for his jacket and draping it over my shoulders. “I’ve come to realize how much you love going around barefoot.” “That’s because those fancy heels hurt,” I mutter, grateful for the warmth of his jacket. “You try stuffing your feet into those medieval foot prisons and smiling through it.”

"What a pity. I just used the alcohol pads to wipe the mud off my shoes." As she spoke, she lifted her foot and showed off her limited-edition hiking boots. They were so clean they could pass for mirrors. "Jack, let's hurry up. There are so many mosquitoes here. Look, I even got bitten," she complained. Jack didn't even glance at my bleeding hand. Instead, he stared at the small mosquito bite on Dakota's skin, already close to fading, as if it were serious. "Move," he ordered me impatiently. "There are too many mosquitoes here. Dakota only got bitten because you've been dragging your feet here."

I tuck the sock a bit lower on my calf, so it’s not visible before repeating the process on my right foot. “It’s like Eli knows me. I mean really knows me,” Peyton declares. “These red booties are perfect. They’re soft, maybe calfskin. I mean I’d buy something like them. Wouldn’t I?” I nod. I can’t believe Eli bought two pairs of expensive boots on a whim. “Ready?” Peyton asks me with a bright smile. “No,” I state honestly. “C’mon,” she tugs on my arm. “Can you believe we’re hanging out with a famous rock band?”

“My feet are fine.” “Good to hear it – or rather see it,” Lacey said with a grin. “I’m sure our footwear will be fine here at the table until we return.” She placed her shoes next to the table. Blake did the same. They began to walk. “How does it feel?” “What?” “The sand – on your feet.” “Warm and gritty,” he answered bluntly. Lacey snickered. “It doesn’t feel freeing to you?” “No. Just a bit strange,” Blake said with slight confusion. “Why do people make such a big deal of walking barefoot in the sand?”

POV: Akayda I ran as fast as my feet could carry me. Damn you Akayda. You should have taken gym class seriously back in high school. I didn’t stop running until I felt my lungs begin to beg for air. The very second I burst out through the club doors, I quickly removed my white heels, bent down, and picked them in my hands and began running barefoot on the pavement like my life depended on it—and just so you know, my life did depend on it.

I stared at her as she walked. "What? Take it off too, it's ten o'clock, no one is watching us." My legs were sore from the heels already, so I used her shoulder as support and removed the heels. Walking barefooted felt so good. If Dylan was here, he would have ranted on and on about how it was unladylike to walk barefooted. -- Ryker's POV

"Are your feet okay?" Nate asks after a minute of us walking. I pause and look down at the forest floor. There were rocks everywhere and pine needles and spiky sticks. I was just walking over them with my bare feet without a second thought. "You know. To be honest with you, I walk around barefoot so much that I don't think my feet even have feeling anymore." "A true adventurer." Nate says with a grin. I smile and look away as we keep walking. "Hey, can I ask you something?" He asks. I nod, glancing at him. "Who was that girl? Ike wasn't interested in answering my questions after I knocked you out."

Dead people aren't supposed to look like that, or sound like that, or especially smile like that! "You like my feet, don't you, Bobby?" Shelly had pulled me down to my knees, tugging on my necktie until she had me right where she wanted me. Her legs were bare, but she had such smooth skin, toned and snow white, she didn't need stockings. Shelly wore patent leather shoes, expensive ones, probably, with open toes and spiked heels. Her toenails were red like her lips and fingers, and she had small, delicate feet. I'd spent three years selling shoes at Pay-Less as a teenage boy, so I had a lot of experience with women's feet and Shelly's were incredible.
