He chattered on restlessly “okay calm down honey, we’ll head to the temple after breakfast, so go take a wash and I’ll be done in a few moments.” Genevieve said as she straightened his hair, she then stared at his eyes, instead of it being green like hers or that of any other Hunter they were blue but the shade was so faint it almost looked like white, it looked extremely beautiful and captivating but it was for this very reason several people wanted him dead, he was different from everyone else and they were scared of it.

"I'm not going back to that life, Blake. I'm done with your corrupt organization. And I'm not going to let you get in the way of me and Derek." Blake's smile disappeared, replaced by a look of anger. "You're making a big mistake, Hunter. You think you can just turn your back on us and walk away? You think you can just team up with a vampire and take down our organization?" "That's exactly what I'm going to do," I said, my voice rising with determination. "I'm going to take down the Phoenix, no matter what it takes. And you can either get out of my way or be taken down along with them."

Getting closer. "Stay together!" Axel shouted, his dagger already burning with flame. The first Hunter emerged from the darkness. It was humanoid but wrong. Too tall, with limbs that bent in directions they shouldn't. Its skin was translucent, showing bones and organs that pulsed with dark energy. And those eyes—burning red, filled with hunger. It moved fast. Inhumanly fast. Axel met it head-on, his flaming dagger slashing across its chest. The blade connected, cutting deep. The Hunter screeched and stumbled back.

Hunter climbed off the couch and stood, grabbing his briefs that were tangled with his trousers before pulling them back on. The phone was still ringing. He glanced around the living room until he finally spotted it lying half out of his discarded pants pocket. It must have slipped out sometime during the night. The screen continued flashing. Hunter picked it up, expecting to silence an alarm. Instead, he frowned. It wasn't an alarm. It was a call. Dean Mercer flashed his phone screen, and Hunter groaned. Dean was the Titans' superstar winger. The boys often called him the Legendary Ladies' Man or the Wolf Who Hunted Prey.

They are helping rebuild what was broken. They are aiding the human women abused in the breeding factory. Those women and children are innocent. They suffer because hunters also made them prey.”

Hunter walks closer to him while showing his teeth and snapping at him. "Hunter!" Axel yells and Hunter snaps his head in Axel's direction. Axel is holding a gun and pointing at Hunter before I can stop him. *Pang* A ear-defining sound of the shot makes me duck and grab my ears. Hunter whimpers and collapses to the ground. Dr. Spine runs out of the cage and closes it behind him. "Thank you, Alpha." Axel nods to him and places the gun on the surgical table behind him. "Why did you have to shoot him!"

Phoenix faced another hunter and I could tell that he would easily win. I looked around to see how I could help, but I froze as I heard the sound of a twin breaking behind me. I turned to see a hunter who had a bow trained at Phoenix. I didn’t know when I screamed. He turned the bow to me as I ran for him but his head exploded in the next moment. I turned to see Phoenix holding one of his Silver guns. And I screamed again as the hunter cut him from behind.
