When the elevator opened on the fourth floor, they saw Susi and Tukijo chatting. Ningsih immediately ran towards them and apologized for her tardiness. Susi introduced her to Tukijo, but the boy kept glaring at her from head to toe. "Do you think you can fool me? Sis," Tukijo said with a thin smile. Cecep and Sugeng, who were beside Tukijo, were very surprised, eyes wide open. "Jo, are you sure you recognize her?" Cecep whispered. "Of course. Right, Sis." Once again, Tukijo smiled thinly.

“Hello.” “....” Silence. There’s no answer from across the phone. “Yeobseyo.” “....” Suddenly the caller hung up. Tiara just fell silent while staring at the phone screen. Weird. “Is it trying to scare me?” Tiara put the phone back down. Her hands are moving to clean up the old book. The book with the cover of ‘The Power of Darkness’ has a unique shape. The carving of roses with minimalist style on the cover looks real. Tiara’s never seen a book cover like this before. She tried to open the book, but it couldn’t open.

And the thought of that, even imagined, made my stomach knot with a delicious ache. I leaned on the railing, eyes following the stretch of sunlight across his window. My imagination refused to stop. I pictured him sipping his coffee, paused mid-motion, head tilting, eyes squinting as though he recognized me from the whisper. And then he would smile. That faint, teasing smile that belonged only to him.

"Three more to go. And I think Chapter 4 is going to involve the rain on the porch." I smiled, feeling heavy and perfect. "Lead the way."

“Then ice cream after. You can pick the flavor. Even that weird mango-chocolate you like.” I smiled into the pillow, heart stupidly full. God help me, I’d fight him every day. And still, I’d always want to fall asleep in his arms. END OF CHAPTER 41
