I tease, and we both laugh. I didn’t realise how much I miss her and Alec until now. But I’d rather be run over by a car than show Alec that despite his shitty behavior, I still miss him. “So I’m the one who gets to be ignored?” Alec asks with a small smile that I respond to with a glare. I am about to say something when the gate is forced open. We all turn to check what is happening and when we do, my breath hitches. Pietra looked at her brother, then back at me, her lips trembling with the effort not to laugh. “He has a point,” she whispered. Blaze leaned back in his chair with a low whistle, while I covered my mouth, torn between laughter and astonishment.

Rain gasped again and this time it was followed by a whimper and then a lone tear sliding down her cheek. She turned to look at him with her watery eyes, pleading silently. “She’s responsive…I like it!” Pietro suddenly said breaking the strange silence. Pietro then brought out his hand from under the table and inhaled greedily like he was inhaling a fucking perfume. Alexander inhaled sharply. He touched her. He fucking touched her. Stay calm Alexander, you’re so fucking close to getting this…just breath. Then Pietro sucked his fingers and groaned. All hell broke loose after that.
