His eyes hold a glow of pride. “I’m proud of you, Amber. Keep up this act and that fool Alessandro will soon marry you, and all his power will lie in your hands,” Pietro smiles at her. Amber reaches for the door saying, “Have a nice life.” Pietro shouts out, “You too!”

I tease, and we both laugh. I didn’t realise how much I miss her and Alec until now. But I’d rather be run over by a car than show Alec that despite his shitty behavior, I still miss him. “So I’m the one who gets to be ignored?” Alec asks with a small smile that I respond to with a glare. I am about to say something when the gate is forced open. We all turn to check what is happening and when we do, my breath hitches. Thorne Xandros, my brother’s ex-best friend and now enemy, in all his glory storms into the house premises with a deadly look on his face.

Pietra looked at her brother, then back at me, her lips trembling with the effort not to laugh. “He has a point,” she whispered. I took a deep breath, dramatically. “Pietra Martins, will you be my princess, queen, empress, or any other noble title you want?” The tears finally spilled from her eyes as she laughed, shaking her head. “What a terrible proposal,” she said, reaching out her hand. “Of course I will, my love.” The hug that followed nearly knocked me over. Anneliese whistled like she was at a football match, and Ettore, a soft smile on his face, raised his glass toward us.

I don’t feel like I’m being judged. Pietro's friend, Paulo, is also part of the crew. He’s got this quiet energy, but you can tell he’s someone who doesn’t mess around. We don’t talk much. Then Renzo surged forward, fisting Pietr’s collar and pulling him nose-to-nose. “Did you touch her?!” he snarled. Pietr didn’t flinch. “Of course not. Only a few kisses. But my intentions are true. I want to take responsibility for Ms. Dido.” Dido’s eyes sparkled as she pressed closer to Pietr. “And I want to marry him.” Renzo’s jaw ticked, torn between fury and disbelief. Blaze leaned back in his chair with a low whistle, while I covered my mouth, torn between laughter and astonishment.

Rain gasped again and this time it was followed by a whimper and then a lone tear sliding down her cheek. She turned to look at him with her watery eyes, pleading silently. “She’s responsive…I like it!” Pietro suddenly said breaking the strange silence. Pietro then brought out his hand from under the table and inhaled greedily like he was inhaling a fucking perfume. Alexander inhaled sharply. He touched her. He fucking touched her. Stay calm Alexander, you’re so fucking close to getting this…just breath. Then Pietro sucked his fingers and groaned. All hell broke loose after that.

Pietro near one of the windows --- Pietro can go home now, I'm the one who's going to finish this training-- I finish talking by slapping Scarlet's ass.
