I know exactly why of course. "He left?" she asks. Her voice drops a full octave. "Apparently so." Piper goes completely still. It’s not a relaxed stillness. It’s the kind of rigid, brittle posture that suggests a sudden, high-velocity impact. I watch her face carefully. Piper has always had a spectacularly weird fixation on Gloria. I’ve never quite bothered to untangle whether she hates the woman or wants to wear her skin, but it’s always highly entertaining to poke at the bruise.

My dad asked in a teasing voice. I groaned internally. He was using “THAT” voice. “Dad, Peter is someone I met today. I just told you about him. He helped me out with Patty…” Piper interrupted with a scoff. “Someone? Peter Melton isn't someone. He's the number one elite, he's the richest guy in Delengade.” Piper said excitedly. Dad looked surprised. “Is he back in the country then? I thought he was abroad. Dave said so the last time we talked.”

“I won't forgive you for this, Percy!“ He dropped the file he had on the bed and walked out, banging shut the door behind him. He was so stupid. He should have found out earlier that Pissy was a woman! No wonder he fell in love with him. He was not gay. He was just a normal human being. Pissy was stunned when he heard Fortune call him Percy. The blood in his body froze. “Sir…” he stammered and took a step forward, trying to stop Fortune from leaving. But the loud banging of the door made him tremble.

And fortunately for me I didn’t get my fathers 6’7 height. “Fine, can I at least go out?” I asked them to follow them out to the car where Percy was standing by the car, waiting for them. Percy was about 6’7 and had grass green eyes with dirty blonde hair. But Percy isn’t one of the… funniest guys to be around.

"Oscar, I need your help. Lyra's becoming a liability. She's too weak, too soft. Monroe Industries needs someone with a firmer hand." Oscar's expression remained neutral, but his eyes sparkled with interest. "Go on." "Help me get rid of her, and I'll make sure you're well-rewarded." Oscar played along, his smirk growing. "And what could you possibly offer me, Piper?" Piper's gaze locked onto Oscar, her eyes unwavering. "I'm... generous," she purred, her voice low and seductive. She trailed her hands over her curves, her movements deliberate and enticing. "I know you want this," she whispered.

“You shouldn’t be here.” “I needed to see for myself,” she says. “See what?” “All the magazines. And the stuff on TV. It’s haunting. It’s everywhere. She’s everywhere. I wanted to see with my own eyes that the two of you are happy.” “We are,” I say. She hasn’t taken her eyes off Piper. “Penny Vanderbilt,” she says. “How didn’t I see it?” “Did you look,” I ask because I’m curious. Piper’s family crash happened in Oregon. Then Piper arrived as an orphan in Ashland not long after, under a different name and no one asked any questions.

Percy whispered hoarsely. He heard the woman giggle and continued her dance. Percy emptied the glass in his hand before throwing it out of nowhere. Luckily, it did not broke and someone picked it up. Percy's hand went on the lady's small waist. He guided her hips as she sways. He inhaled her sweet scent and immediately got addicted to it. "Are you having fun?" Percy whispered near her ears.

“Like what? I was there. Did you miss his bum and try to stick it in his ear after I left?” Percy starts laughing like a hyena at my question, but Meldec looks less than amused. “No,” he winces, “It may have been worse than that.” “What’s worse than sticking your nub in his ear?” Percy cackled out. “No, prick. I'll turn yours into a nub if you refer to mine in such an insulting way again.” He focused a little too hard on strapping on his horse’s saddle. “I, uh, may have made a fuss about not trusting sirens. I told him he couldn't mark me back because of it.”
