I said, still smiling. He smirked. “Oh, I did. You were drooling.” My eyes widened. “I was not!” He laughed again, a real laugh this time, the kind that made my chest flutter. “Relax, baby. I’m kidding.” I crossed my arms, pretending to pout, but it was useless. He had that look again—mischief and tenderness all rolled into one. “So,” he said, opening the fridge, “what are we thinking? You hungry for something specific?”
