he questioned. "What's wrong with that?" I shot back, lifting my eyebrows, attempting not to blush at his compliment. "Come on, Nikki, every girl usually has like 15 friends, and you're telling me you've got only two?" he debated. I arched an eyebrow at his audacity. "What?" he asked, sounding a bit defensive. "Nikki? Seriously?" I couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, I thought of giving you a unique nickname that no one's used before, so I tweaked 'Nika' to 'Nikki.' You don't like it?" His smile faded a bit.

The last thing I wanted was another disaster where I fell and couldn't get up. “50 seconds, Heart!” Lisa called behind me. My heart stuttered. She was counting the time? “Oh Goddess, what do I do?” I mumbled to myself as I neared the boys. One of them noticed me and pointed out. “Yo, check it out. It's Eggwash.” The players echoed a holler before they broke into laughter. Eggwash, TinBarbie, Bookclown, amongst others, were my nicknames. Eggwash is the most popular and the guy that came up with it was staring, no, glaring at me.

I say frantically but quietly enough that I don’t think anyone can even hear me over the blaring music. To me, the music almost seems muted at this moment. It’s all hitting me like a freight train. How could I be so blind and naive? The way Ghost just obeyed like a punished child to him the first night. And his name…oh god his name…he didn’t actually mean his name was Funny, he was being sarcastic because everyone and their mother knows this man’s name, except stupid little me. And when I asked him how he got the nickname he said it was a misunderstanding that stuck. Oh my god, how embarrassing!

"You've just been blessed by the golden touch. You know I'm just like the fictional King Midas, everything I touch turns to gold so you'll definitely be lucky, Nicky!" Dr. Nick chuckled both at the joke and the new nickname. "Lucky me! Thank you for the blessings, Ethanol!"
