She kept pouring the black substance from her mouth as though there was something inside her that was forcefully pushing it out of her. I quickly rushed and grabbed a bucket close to the door and placed it close to her. The healer held her carefully as he positioned her head above the bucket so she could spew the substance directly onto the bucket. The room was filled with the stench, and my stomach churned. I felt like throwing up too as I watched her puke out the poison. She continued gushing out the black fluid for some minutes before she finally stopped. The healer didn’t display any sign of discomfort by the pungent smell as he cleaned Lily up carefully.

Ezra and I get to him first. "He’s burning up," Ezra says, voice cracking. "What the hell is this?" A healer runs in. Then another. Then Elder Mave herself. They pull him to the infirmary. I pace outside like a caged wolf. Finally, Mave emerges. Her face is ashen. "He’s been poisoned. The toxin… it’s Boundless in origin. It must have been dormant. Buried in his blood."
