"Ever heard of the Black Scorpions?" I drew my breath when I heard him mention the Black Scorpions. I knew about them from Hale and he had told me severally that The New Order was terrified of the Black Scorpions. There was a time I wished I could become a member of the Black Scorpions so I could break free from Hale's prison but I was too afraid to pursue that thought.

The voices rose in a keening wail, blending into one piercing shriek. Something massive hurtled through the underbrush, barreling straight towards me. I dug my heels into the spongy earth and backpedaled furiously. A blur of motion solidified into a towering humanoid shape, all sharp angles and rigid bones. It skidded to a halt mere inches from me, the impact gouging deep furrows into the forest floor. Bared fangs stretched its mottled gray flesh into a skeletal grin, lips pulled back in a deranged, mocking leer. Blank sockets stared down at me, hollows in its warped skull where eyes should have been.

I took a deep breath and tried to look up again, and this time, I did see it. It was the black ghost from outside. I turned and saw the kid glancing from me to the beast, trying to figure out what was happening. “Go!” I screamed at him through gritted teeth as the pain intensified even more. He hesitated for just a second before turning and darting down the hall, away from me and the beast. Another wave of unbearable pain seared through my skull and I let out another ear-splitting scream. Oh, please, make it stop! And then it stopped. The pain just vanished. I glanced up to see another dark figure attacking the first one. Only this time, the shadow looked human.

hskk. “What is that sound?..” the surroundings were quiet, but I could hear a sound as if something was cracking 3:00 am At exactly 3 am, a strange black shadow suddenly appeared in the corner of her room! “Who are you? What are you doing here in my GF’s room !?” the shape of the shadow slowly formed and gave the appearance of a large hairy man. “A Kapre!!” (Kapre is a Filipino horror myth that appears like a person with a hairy body and a face of an ancient people)

David firmly says. “Action!” Jun insists. “Horror!” David shouts. “Action!” Jun shouts too. I decided to intervene before they kill each other. “How about watching two movies? One horror and one action.” “What will we watch first?” Sam innocently asks. I sighed. “Horror.” David says again. “Action.” Jun contradicts his brother. “Just do a rock, paper and scissors and be done with it.” Jaden chimes in. I gratefully look at him and he nod at me.
