Poppy’s favorite thing about the clothes Myrna helped her chose was that everything had pockets, real pockets, not the fake little ones that barely held a stick of chapstick, let alone a wallet or cell phone. To finish out the outfit, she’d grabbed some ankle socks and a pair of white sneakers with stars all over them. Poppy added some demure earrings, her watch, and some rings before turning to go exploring the castle. She still couldn’t believe that she was in a freaking castle. Malcom hadn’t quite told her that part when he told her where they were going. Poppy was equal parts thrilled and nervous.

“Well, no one could miss us. Trent will see us anywhere.” Poppy looked at the dresses, then laughed. It was true. Poppy was wearing a bright blue dress that hugged her figure, with April in green and Sophie in yellow. “We are a colorful palate, that’s for sure. If you are not comfortable, let me know. Magnolia cussed. "Yeah that's what I want to say mom." Poppy's voice was heard but now she sounded young, very young. Zion carried her inside and we followed but we needed to stay in the livingroom as Magnolia took our mate away for some cleaning up. When they came back down I almost laughed but bit my tongue. Before Declan could answer, Petra's tearful voice drifted in from somewhere behind him. "Mrs. Mercer, would you really lie through your teeth just to make everyone forget that you pushed me? Theo was explaining goat ownership plans. Poppy was drawing family pictures. Harper rested against Noah. Daisy rested against Roman. For a while nobody spoke. The comfortable kind of silence. The family kind. Then Poppy suddenly looked up from her drawing. "I forgot something." Everyone looked over. "What?" Harper asked. Poppy held up her picture. There were stick figures everywhere. Noah. Harper. Theo. Herself. Roman. Daisy. Lillie. And several tiny new figures. "What are those?" Noah asked.

I poured out two glasses of campaign as instructed by Aurora as I added the pill to her. I turned back to see her using her mobile, I placed the drinks on the table careful enough not to mix them. "Can I get an ice cube?" She asked as I smiled and nodded as I headed back to the fridge to get the ice cube.
