“Where is the house, Pelummi?’ I asked abruptly, hoping to avoid his gaze. It worked. Antonio went back to steering the car out of the road, to the sidewalk. Did I just say sidewalk? There was no sidewalk here, everything mixed, gutter and red sand.
“It’s the cute brown house over there.” She pointed at the house opposite where we were.
I looked at the house in question with zero expectations. I was mildly surprised it wasn’t as shabby as the rest. The house was a two-storey building, which had a long passage. There was no gate. Its colour was fading off and looked very dirty.
