The breaking point of love
She could no longer hold back the breakdown; she burst into audible weeping, consecutive gasps breaking the silence, uttering in a lost, broken voice desperately pleading to him amid the freezing cold:
— "Adrian... I... I need you... Come get me from here, please."
In that exact moment, the sound of her crying intensified and her phone slipped from her hand. She remembered her previous resistance against him when she had trusted a man who betrayed her, and how Adrian had told her that time would bring her back to him. She clamped her hand over her mouth, sobbing violently, leaving the man on the line anxiously calling her name until he rushed out in his car.
