"It's the oldest story in the book. The evil dragon falls in love with the princess, but she doesn't belong to him. So, he locks her in an ivory tower, making sure that she can't ever leave." I said coolly, "The princess ultimately gets saved by the prince, though." He chuckled. "My story doesn't come with a prince." In other words, he was confident he could keep me locked up in here forever. I snorted and said sarcastically, "I don't like you, Dominic. What's the point of you doing this?" He was unfazed. "Is that so? You felt so good that you cried last night, though. Or was I mistaken?"

I said the moment we reached the prize counter, pointing at a giant blue stuffed bear. I hugged it tightly once Crow exchanged our tickets for it. It was almost as tall as me. I whisper, leading him towards the right to head down the hallways, but I stop, looking back over my shoulder at the closed door with a little pink bow hanging on it. “What’s in that room, Princess?” Uncle Hunter asks, his voice soft and gentle. “Just some broken dreams.” I answer back, feeling a lump forming in my throat. Uncle Hunter says nothing, but lets me lead him to my office. His workers were quick with boxes and bubble wrap, packing away everything inside.

It was just too tempting. The prince continued to talk, about how he came to save Nathaniel and killed all the bandits by himself. It was a long monologue, filled with unnecessary, flowery details. They were a mixture of exaggerations and direct lies. When the bowl was empty, Nathaniel finally raised his head again. He hadn't even bothered to listen to any of that crap, ignoring the prince blatantly. "Get out. I want to sleep."
