I wasn’t lying. He smiles. He goes down on one knee… He takes a small box out of his pocket… “This isn’t another engagement ring…” he says. “This is a promise ring. I promise to love you with every single fiber of my being. I promise to protect you, both your heart and body. I promise to remain faithful to you until my last breath…” he smiles.
