Promises Meant To Be Broken Novels & Stories

“Because you broke your promise, Marcus!! You broke your fucking promise.” I knew exactly what he was talking about and he knew I knew. “You promised that you would give them a chance. You promised to welcome them into this family.” I could barely look into his piercing gaze not to talk of moving my lips. “A man who doesn't keep his promises is not fit to run an organization like mine. I'd happily hand over management to your sisters before I give up my last breath.”

Valerie’s POV I used to think promises were only words people said when they wanted to make themselves feel better. I had heard many promises in my life. Promises that were broken. Promises made out of fear. Promises made because people wanted power. For a long time, I believed promises were fragile things. They sounded beautiful when they were spoken, but they meant nothing if they were not followed by actions. But my life taught me something different. The most important promises are not the ones we make during perfect moments.

"Are you serious right now? After everything—the team meeting, Coach's ultimatum, Ethan's rage—you think you should have handled Jules differently?" "I think I shouldn't have lied to her face and called what we had a mistake." "It was a mistake, Cross. You broke the bro code, destroyed team chemistry, nearly lost your scholarship. That's the definition of a mistake." "It didn't feel like a mistake when I was with her." "Jesus." Tyler runs his hand through his hair. "You're still hung up on her. After everything she's cost you."

“You don’t know what kind of bargaining he might consider.” And just like that, the jubilant world Jefferson had momentarily created crumbled back into uncertainties as paranoia crept under his skin like poisonous ivy.

He told them I was the scruffy little skunk, not him. Five years ago, he'd dropped to one knee and asked me to be his chosen mate. That was the same moment Julian appeared. The fated bond was too strong. I couldn't fight it. I broke our childhood promise. But every time we'd walked side by side, every time we'd looked at each other — I remembered all of it. Ethan said he'd wait. He hadn't been lying. That's what a promise should weigh. Not the cheap, weightless thing Julian called a promise — the kind he could break without a second thought.

"What..?" "But then a problem came up.. you see Avery once I promised someone something I never break it, and I promised him that I will make sure you marry Vincent and no one else. So if I were to break my promise it would cause a bad effect on my employees, partners and staff.. they will think I'm not a man of my words anymore... But you sweetheart, you are worth breaking every promise on the earth." "What are you talking about!?"

He blurted out, confused abd utterly perturbed. "Because you never keep to your promises." She stated firmly. "I told you before didn't I? I told you that promises as sacred and can never be broken but you always break them right after you make them to me, so I think that it will be of our best interest if you don't make any promises concerning this matter." "Serenity?" Andre called softly, willing her to look at him. "I promise and this time, I won't break them."

A promise he broke. Vincent sighed and looked outside to where Alice and Simon seemed to be still talking. Simon was showing Alice something on his phone, and she laughed again. His face narrowed as he placed his hand on his hips with tensing shoulders. He wanted to punch Simon’s face. As Vincent stared intensely, his thoughts went back to when he made the promise to be with her. They would be together according to his promise. He didn't know what he was thinking, making such a pointless promise because he would not keep that promise. He broke it and hoped he would fix his mistake, but he was too late. Alice was moving on, and it was right in front of his eyes.

While mine covered in anticipation and excitement. "We'll surely have a future and you'll feel happy in it" he whispered against my lips as his soft flesh brushed against mine. Promises, that's what I was afraid of. And he just promised me a future, gave me a hope. Promises are made to be broken. Thats what always happens. I know it very well yet I couldn't help but let myself believe in him. That's the very first promise he made to me. I so much want to create a future with him, where I could be happy.
