The Way of the Dragon

The Way of the Dragon

"Moreover, all the treasures on that kid should be mine!" Fu Ba's expression was ferocious, and his eyes flashed with a very fierce killing intent. "Buzz!" In the General's Mansion, other people were searching for treasures. Suddenly, a hazy light beam began to cover the whole area. In the blink of an eye, the entire void was enveloped by streaks of light beam. "These things are the protective light shield of the formation!" Some of the experts could not help but exclaim when they saw the hazy light beam appearing in the air.

Enjoying the book tremendously, the characters names and even the tone of the author changed in the last 1/3 of the book was a bit confusing but was able to adjust to the changes the plot is definitely engaging and keeps you pushing to see how it all plays out for Zepher but it seem to abruptly?

Living With My Lady Boss

Living With My Lady Boss

It was the protective shield of the Light Gloves. The swords stabbed the light shield the next second, shattering it with a loud explosion as it turned into countless light fragments that faded and disappeared into the air. At the same time, the white glow around Wilbur disappeared completely. Wilbur knew that it was going to take time to conjure another protective shield. Barker was far too powerful, and Wilbur did not dare to slow down in the slightest as he muttered the chant to activate the Dragon's Safehaven. A brightly colored ray of light appeared above Wilbur's head before spreading around his body completely. Wilbur heaved a sigh of relief at the sight of the Dragon's Safehaven.

The Reaver Chronicles: Raphael (Book 2)

The Reaver Chronicles: Raphael (Book 2)

The light's intensity was staggering, piercing through the dimness of the room like a miniature sun. I winced, squinting to protect my eyes from the radiant glow, which seemed to be growing brighter by the second. I glanced over at Raphael, noticing that he, too, was shielding his eyes from the intense light. But before we could even adjust to the glare, the white light suddenly burst outward, exploding into a brilliant, all-encompassing radiance that filled the entire room.

The Kind Villain: A Legend of Woof-Woof

As long as the objective I originally have is in favor of helping the slaves and keeping Cormelio safe. "Good wolf. Now, let's get out of here. I know a way out that has poor surveillance." She raises her hand above her head, the glowing round light with triple layers, then a pillar of light shined from her hand upward. The darkness around us shattered like broken glass before it vanished on the floor. And we're unharmed.

Beatrice Beecham's Ship of Shadows

Beatrice Beecham's Ship of Shadows

Since coming to Dorsal Finn, Beatrice had grown up, The Light was now presenting in a way she now needed to understand. “I haven’t seen The Light for some time,” she winked. “You know how corny that sounds, right?” Lucas appeared thoughtful. “I guess you haven’t needed to, and this is why I know you’re safe.” “You think it only comes when I’m in danger?” Beatrice had never considered this as a concept. It made sense now that she thought it over. “Or when it feels that you need help,” he said. “And this is why you’re not worried?”

Reborn, Pregnant, and Plotting

“I cannot protect you.” “I agree with Brother,” the silver light added, moving closer to the gold one as if standing beside him made the warning stronger. “Mommy, I can heal you,” the purple light said softly, her glow flickering with brave little sparks. “Do not worry. We are small, but we still will not let anyone hurt you.”

The Alpha’s Purchased Mate

The Alpha’s Purchased Mate

The sound of gurgling created an unnatural screech that made all the hairs on my neck stand up in fear. Dante commanded his men to ""Form a perimeter" while he drew his Moon-steel broadsword. ""Lights out, facing the tree line." The fifty guards created an unbreakable defensive formation that enclosed both me and Dante. The guards emitted fifty simultaneous beams of UV light that created a powerful burst of light to penetrate the hazardous snow conditions. Two bright red eyes began to shine through the whiteout conditions, revealing their hidden presence in the dark space. The second pair appeared. The second pair appeared. The second pair appeared. Red eyes surrounded us, creating a circle

All the Names She Wore

All the Names She Wore

Protective measures under review. Protective. The word should comfort but it does not. Because in this context, protection does not mean safety. It means preservation of outcome. My mind moves ahead of the screen now. If they identified me at seventeen. If they placed Leah near me before I knew her. If Livia destabilized a projection they thought was fixed. Then what I am seeing now is not the origin. It is adaptation. The shape of something adjusting.

“No please! Please! Spare her! Ple— “ I stab him straight in the heart and twist it, watching him lose his life. Just then we hear a commotion from outside the club and i signal to one of the guards to check it out. I pull out my knife and one of the guards hands me a piece of cloth on which I wipe it. My second in command, also my best friend— Dom, orders the rest of the guys to dispose of the body and clean up. I leave with him following behind me. I get to my office and set my knife down. “You realize his daughter is only 8.”

THE WRONG TWIN FOR THE RIGHT ALPHA

THE WRONG TWIN FOR THE RIGHT ALPHA

“With ancestral words, I invoke this magic into action, a circle of light, under the protection of the Moon Goddess. No harm shall befall him, and I will cast a protective spell. Darkness shall retreat, finding no foothold, under this charm, he shall find peace!” I felt the magic flow from my feet to envelop my entire body, creating a protective shield around both me and Conan. The little one calmed down, releasing a sigh as the tears ceased. A magical aura surrounded us, emitting an intense, blue-tinged light for our protection. As I finished the incantation, I felt lighter, as did my little brave one. The Lycan King watched us with intrigue. I handed the pup to Victoria, whose puzzled expr

Frequently Asked Questions

I was actually just talking about 'Protection' with a friend the other day! It's one of those books that sticks with you, not just for its plot but also because of the author behind it. The novel was written by P.D. James, a legendary figure in crime fiction. She's best known for her Adam Dalgliesh series, but 'Protection' stands out as a standalone gem. James had this incredible ability to weave tension and psychology into her stories, making them feel so real and immersive.

What I love about P.D. James is how she doesn’t just rely on cheap thrills; her characters are complex, and her pacing is deliberate, almost literary. 'Protection' is no exception—it’s got that signature blend of sharp dialogue and meticulous plotting. If you haven’t read her work before, this might be a great starting point. It’s a shame she’s no longer with us, but her books are definitely worth revisiting or discovering for the first time. I still find myself thinking about some of her scenes months after reading them.
