He wouldn't trade his fiance for the world. "What'd she want? Some good ol' sex." I tease him. "I wish." He says laughing at me as he teasingly pushes me away. "She wanted ice cream and waffles." Chloe, Lucas' fiance, has been pregnant for 6 months and as you can notice, she's been having some midnight cravings for a while now. "Don't get me wrong, I love her so much, but she send me back to make new waffles because the previous ones were too brown." I laugh as I picture Chloe ordering Lucas around all night.

~Damian~ In frustration, I found myself seated before the cookies Becky had brought me, and I selected a piece. I promptly placed it in my mouth and savored the satisfying crunch. A sense of pleasant surprise washed over me as I discovered the delectable taste. The cookie had achieved the perfect balance of flavors and boasted a delightful crispness. Driven by the sheer enjoyment, I continued to devour one piece after another, eagerly munching away until every last cookie had vanished. I love it thanks Mom. CASSIE'S POV:- As soon as I stepped in. Mouth watering aroma of vanilla and chocolate filled my lungs and I inhaled it as deep as I could. I ran to the kitchen. I saw a bucket full of cookies on the kitchen counter. Stella filled my mug with her special and yummy hot chocolate. I picked up a cookie and took a bite. It was delicious. Heavenly flavor of vanilla and chocolate burst into my mouth as I moaned excitedly. Stella's voice brought me back to earth.

Finally she opened the bag and it had a tomato and avocado sandwich, a bottle of ginger ale and a huge cookie inside of it. She smiled, at first this didn't have her boss written all over it but now it did. He was trying to woo her, being undeniably sweet—she didn't like that, whatever game he was playing was working as she took a seat and took a bite of her cookie, letting out a moan as it melted straight into her mouth with the fudge-y insides dancing with her taste buds. It was merely a coincidence as there was no way he knew her favorite cookie was the warm fudge with marshmallow toasted on it.

Cole and I stopped and turned in his direction. He stopped running, bending forward and placing his hands on his knees, resting and catching his breath. “Wait,” he raised his one hand, still panting. He lifted his head and smiled at me. “Xian tried this new cookie recipe. Please try it,” he offered, giving me a small container filled with different sizes of cookies. “Don’t taste it if you want to live long, Brielle.” Cole laughed at him, shaking his head. “Don’t listen to him. Xian bakes great cookies.”

“Let’s celebrate.” We sat outside a tiny ice cream parlor on the corner of 6th and Bell. The sun had dipped low, casting gold over the sidewalk, and the air had cooled just enough to make the cones melt slower. Mera had chocolate with sprinkles. I had pistachio. Aaron picked vanilla plain, simple and familiar. He licked around the edge of the cone, eyes darting occasionally to Mera, who was busy crunching rainbow bits with dramatic flair. “You know,” she said between bites, “Vanilla is underrated.”

The question, so simple, so full of genuine care, opened something inside me. "Much better. Now it's just… strange cravings and a tiredness that comes out of nowhere." I took a bite of the cookie. It was perfect. Crisp on the outside, soft inside, with a deep flavor of honey and spices. I closed my eyes for a second in bliss. "Oh my god. This is heaven." When I opened them, he was watching me with an expression I'd never seen on him before. It was open. Unguarded. Fascinated.

His hand slid up the side of my neck, fingers curling lightly at my jaw. I leaned into him instinctively, my fingers tangling in his shirt, pulling him closer. The taste of vanilla and salt lingered on our lips. The counter dug into my hip as he stepped closer, deepening the kiss. When we finally pulled apart, I was dizzy, breathing hard. “Wow,” I said, half laughing, half breathless. “These cookies are gonna be emotionally charged.” He smiled, an unguarded kind of smile that made him look years younger. “You’re impossible.”

She handed over the cookie pieces to the gentlemen. Grandpa Ben laughed and took the half of a star. His eyes lit up with pleasure as he took a bite. The flavors of vanilla, butter, and sugar melted on his tongue as he bit into the crisp cookie. “They are delicious. Come, Ms. Milli; Dorine sent us to find you. Emily is in the nursery and we would like it if you and Mrs. Robinson sat with us.”

I explained. I wanted her to read it for herself. I didn’t want to spoil how her grandfather proposed. So while she read the email, I went and looked at the disaster that was my cookies. I tried to bite into one, but it wasn’t worth the dental bill. So into the trash, they went. I sighed and started getting ingredients out again to try again.
