“Give me a damn minute.” The pounding stops, but the grumbling doesn’t. The door is several inches open, a sliver of Carden’s pissed face shines through the crack. “Hold your britches.” I shout as I shut the door. A smirk tugs at my lips as I find humor in it. Serves him right. The panic he must feel makes me giddy. But I quickly crash from my high as I open the door, after much effort to move the dresser back, and see Carden’s annoyed face along with two others glaring at me.

Queen marched through the massive double doors, her head held high even though her pulse thrummed with frustrated rage. As the woman let out a long howl, the bronze door, which had originally appeared, suddenly began to tremble. At the same time, a buzzing sound could be heard. The next moment, under everyone's gaze, a gap slowly opened. Although it was just a gap, for this bronze door, which was seven or eight floors high, this gap was enough for four or five people to walk in side by side. The right wing of the house, although clean and well-groomed, appears to be hardly ever used. Renee looked to the left and found a large golden door, curiously she opened the door handle. It was a man's voice and a woman's. My chest tightened. I took a deep breath, getting myself ready for whatever it is. I pushed the door open slowly, my hand shaking on the doorknob. What I saw shocked me to my core.

What however stood in front of me was a giant twin oak door that looked sturdy. I rubbed my finger against the smoothened wood and by the goddess, it felt thick. I doubted a single soul would hear me even knock. I didn't let the thought drag me down however. The new gate was probably erected as a better means of protection. I knocked on the door. A task that hurt my hands and eventually a part of the door flicked open. I was immediately met by cornflower blue orbs and a menacing stare.
