“How do you sleep peacefully believing he won’t kill you for revenge?” There was a minute of silence. Queen didn’t react immediately. She stayed very still, but a faint bitter smile appeared on her lips. Not mocking, not amused, just tired truth. “You are a baby,” She said softly. She stepped closer and Lisa froze. Queen’s presence was strange. Gentle movements but heavy energy. Like someone who carried too many things inside. Her fingers moved to Lisa’s hair, adjusting it over her shoulder. The gesture was elegant, practiced, almost royal. Lisa felt strangely still under that touch. Not fear. Something else, respect, curiosity and a quiet pull.

She was always so dramatic. "Your Majesty," she bowed about ten times before finally standing in front of me. I rolled my eyes and dismissed the guard, pulling her closer so no one else would hear. Even though we were the only people in the courtroom at that moment, the walls had ears—in the form of the other maids—and they certainly liked to talk. "I need you to do something for me, Sheba," I said, my voice firm. "I’d do anything for you, my Luna, even if I have to jump from the palace windows!" she began to raise her voice.

There is a table set up to the side with small pastries and a pot of tea , the maid was just finishing setting it up . “Thank you Anna , that will be all” The Queen says as we all take a seat , i sit beside Mama as far from the others as possible . “Please help yourself to some of these lovely pastries , they are fresh” The Queen says as she pours us each a tea . “Shiva , if you are going to sit with your face like that you would be as well leaving” She says without even looking at her . “So Lillybeth, tell me about yourself dear?” I sit and sip my tea watching as the woman shifts nervously in her seat .

I carefully lifted my eyes a fraction, the only thing I saw was heeled shoes the color of gold coming towards the stairs. "You may rise." A delicate, yet authoritative voice commanded, and everyone complied. The sound of shuffling feet against the floor filled the silence, my body tensing as I finally had a good look at the Queen. Her hair was jet black, razor cut to frame her pale face. Large, amber-coloured eyes framed a sharp nose and lips, and her skin was alabaster white. Her face was beautiful in its pure perfection but her cold demeanor spoke volumes about the power that she held.

I smile at them both, neither return the smile but the Queen sits forward and places her elbows on the table. “So, Azaelyth, I want to make this clear first of all. I will ask you something only once and if you refuse to answer or decide to deceive us this will increase your punishment” The tiny Queen says as she narrows her eyes at me allowing her aura to press down on me and believe me when I say this she is fucking strong, her golden aura is making me feel as though I am suffocating. The Beta sits silent, unmoving as his eyes bore into me, his own aura swirling around us. It’s no match for the Queen but still impressive on its own.

When I step inside, the sight stops me in my tracks. Queenie is asleep in the chair, cradling baby Caleb against her chest. Her head rests against the back of the chair, and her breathing is slow and steady. The baby’s tiny fingers clutch at her shirt, and the two of them look so peaceful it makes my chest ache. I stand there for a moment, just watching them, before deciding to let her sleep a little longer.

I asked. "Exactly how I should feel," she answered indifferently as if we had not been chatting over the past two days, as if we had not managed to get along with each other. I didn't let my disappointment show as she stepped around me to face the other women who were now waiting. "For the queen, we should begin with exercises that would build her strength," she addressed the woman whom I was now certain must be the second in charge. "Yes, my lady," the woman replied with a slight bow.

Ysabella ultimately decided to go. Everyone in the room could finally exhale a sigh of relief. The previous hour had been so tense that they thought the runway, which was used for the catwalk, would be a catfight arena. They were relieved it did not happen. All of the staff members were relieved that Clarissa was able to maintain her composure and act so gracefully.
