Rachel is already standing calmly again, though I catch a flash of emotion in her eyes before she lowers her gaze and straightens the books in her hands. The bookshelf beside us is still swaying slightly, but it’s stable now. A few of the books that almost fell earlier are stacked unevenly near the edge. The smell of paper and ink fills the air around us. I’m still standing too close to her. Only after a few seconds do I realize it. Slowly, I pull my hand away from the shelf and take half a step back, creating a more reasonable distance between us. Rachel doesn’t look at me right away. She simply adjusts the two books in her hands, lightly patting their covers as if trying to brush off somet

“Well, at least tell me if I have one part right.” “You have always been so stubborn,” Raquel smirks. Putting his pointer finger into the air, he offers me hope. “Fine. I will give you only one fact.” “Yay!” I clap eagerly. Raquel covers his mouth. Almost as if he is attempting to hide a smile. “I said one, Katrina. Now, go on before I change my mind.” My mind filled with unique books I read, remembering that I read about different creatures from vampires to werewolves and demons to Fae. Then one, in particular, hits me. I can see it as clear as day.

I walked up to her, politely collected the textbook from her hand, and kept it securely tucked under my arm. "That is interesting," she replied, completely unbothered by my rigid posture.

She called on one of the girls name and she kindly stand up obeying respectively. "Yes ma...?" She answered. "Come and have this book, and share it to everyone, one after the other using their names that was written on each" Josephine says as she is equally stepping closer to Rachel which made it not to be too far for her to reach out. And before she gave it to her she first of all removed her own book. And then Rachel collected the books and started calling the names that was written in it. "Bailey Anderson" Rachel called on the first name and it becomes the name of the girl that was too happy about this.

Rachel asked and closed the locker door shut quickly before any book decided that it did not want to squeeze in with the others. Audrey curled a strand on her finger before she pulled herself away from the wall and walked alongside her best friend who was a business administration student in the same university as her. “I went to the Book Café to pick up some books and enjoy a mug of my favorite Black Beauty," Audrey replied. "Wow, that’s amazing ! But I missed it," Rachel pouted. "It wasn't all that amazing !" Audrey muttered under her breath and Rachel clearly heard it. "Why, what happened ?" Rachel asked intrigued.

Rachael’s POV I dressed carefully, choosing simple clothes that wouldn't draw attention. Black pants. Gray sweater. My hair pulled back in a practical braid. The Continental Council representatives would arrive within the hour. My hands trembled as I fastened the clasp on my necklace—the one piece of jewelry I'd kept from my old life. I forced them steady. I'd survived Christopher. Survived the siege. I could survive questions. A knock at the door. Kelvin entered without waiting for permission, carrying two mugs of coffee.

She sensed that I was perturbed even though I had initially pretended to be happy. * Rachel was an environmentalist now and very well renowned for her views and her work in saving the rain forests.
