He had thought his mates' eyes were beautiful, but these eyes, they were mesmerizing, flashing from dark grey to hazel to silver. "You remember how I said the midwife saw mine and Adira marks before running to fetch the villagers?" Clary asked, desperately wanting to bury her face in her Alphas neck, to hide the eyes that had almost gotten her, and her sister and mother murdered. The eyes that it had taken her and Adira years to learn how to control and hide. "We can control it most of the time but sometimes, they just slip out. There are only two things that make us lose control like that, uncontrollable rage and uncontrollable passion" she said.

Megra I stare at my reflection in the mirror, barely recognising the woman staring back. My right eye is swollen shut, a hideous purple-black hue spreading around it. The pain is relentless, throbbing with every heartbeat. I dab makeup over the bruised skin, but the dark discoloration is impossible to fully cover. Each touch is a reminder of Conor's latest outburst—a fresh wave of anger and hatred rising within me.

It felt like a she held my balls in her fist and clenched her fingers around it. I tried to call out to her but she ignored me and buried her face into Raze's neck. I looked down and saw maggots climb me from my knees. The maggots don't eat at me, just climbed up my body till they got to my face, they ignored my open mouth and crawled to my eyes. There and then they stated chewing and burrowed into my body through my eyes. Screams of agony sounded from mouth and I cried out loud. Still, she is very kind and understanding for her age. I raised my eyes and met Marcus’s cold blue gaze watching me over the rim of his wine glass. I faced my own plate and didn’t look up at him again. Just as dessert was being cleared for the main meal, Angela spoke up. “Mommy, Bella said my eyes and hair are scary.” “Why would she say that? There’s nothing scary about your eyes or your hair, sweetie,” I said, playing oblivious. Angela was born with the rarest grey eyes and a streak of white in her hair—a trait from my side of the family. Two of my half-brothers had it, and so did my father.

"The hunger is crippling. It's tearing me up inside until all I can think about is feeding." The red fire around her eyes, it all suddenly fell into place. Rayne had mentioned once that when a vampire went hungry for too long their eyes began to glow red. It was a highly dangerous situation because their humanity was lost and they devolved, effectively turning Rogue. The only solution was for their peers to put them down as Weres put down a rabid wolf or cat.

I laugh “Those eyes though, what is up with her eyes?” “Agora took a blood sample, and she contains both DNAs simultaneously, the Zions have white pupils, pure white looking at their eyes, her mother was human the only thing that Agora can guess is that the combination of the two DNAs gave her cat eyes. She believes she is Vampire because that is all she was ever told when she found good ol’ dad, but Agora, Althea, and I beg to differ. She’s very much a loner, with reason so we try not to push the issue on tests, we were amazed that the blood was given, honestly.”

George asked. "Four," Ragnor replied. "Tell me what happened with each colour," George asked. "My purple eye glow gives me my flying ability; my red eye glow is when I am angry or thirty, my natural eye colour and a blue glow," Ragnor replied. "What happens when your eye glows blue?" George asked. "I don't know because the eye doesn't change to that colour often," Ragnor answered honestly. "Watch," George said, closed his eyes and lifted his head looking at the skies.

The heat slowly dissipates as I stand there for a paralyzing second, water dripping down the strands of my hair and the hem of my shirt. I can breathe again. Then I look up. My eyes catch on my own reflection in the mirror. I freeze. No. I slowly lift my fingertips, touching my cheek. The skin there is marred with a dark violet. The color of Ezra’s eyes, but riddled with illness. It’s a small circle, slowly spreading. Plague. And the heat is back, harsher and stronger than before.

Valerie's right eye and Angela’s left eye turned white, and both Marie's eyes turned white. “What’s going on?” I asked as we both returned to them. “I think the ritual was successful,” Steven replied.

Matthias was beyond ashamed. He could not believe that he never saw this coming. Mara had been depressed for years but she never showed any abnormal signs that might hint at thoughts of suicide. Matthias placed a hand over her forehead and used his thumb to gently lift her right eyelid. As expected, her pupil was dilated and did not react to the candlelight around the bed, and as he feared, the color of her eye, though faded, was still giving off that same unsettling shade of yellow.
