I gently lifted her chin. “Freddy is running mad,” I said, shaking my head slowly. “That man is no longer thinking like a normal enemy. He’s thinking like pain itself. We don’t know what he might do next, where he might strike next, or whose throat he might decide to place his fingers around next.”
