“Be serious, Jake or else I’m going to tear you apart.” Jake’s grin sharpened. “Then come try.” They clashed again, brutal and fast—bone against bone, steel against flesh. Raja’s strikes were efficient, calculated rage, while Jake countered with vicious precision. They moved in the flickering light like demons, each one bent on the other’s destruction. And all the while, Tales lay motionless nearby, a silent reminder of why Raja was here. This fight was only beginning. And Raja had nothing left to lose.

He pinned her to a tree “Do not move, I won’t take too long.” She rolled her eyes and scoffed. He looked at her more sternly and she shrugged and nodded. He ran in the direction of the oncoming men. She watched his accurate movements, the three of them circled him and attacked. He ducked when a punch came, and moved sideways to avoid the jab of a knife. Xavier pulled out his sword and slit a throat. He wiped some blood from his face, he faced the remaining two.

"You should take Dad's reputation into consideration, Mom. His subordinates are still around." Mom scoffed as she looked at the crowd of people behind us. "I suppose I can keep myself in check for Matthew's sake." Dad breathed a sigh of relief before shooting a grateful look at me. The three of us conversed with each other while ignoring everyone around us, leaving the Morenos and the outlaws stunned as they watched us. Frank was the first one to snap back to his senses. "You faked your own death, Matthew?" he demanded. "Did you do it so that the other Morenos would drop by our home to demand money from us?"

I ask, looking between him and Kaycen. Both of them nod at the exact same time. “Yes, as you probably already know, we have the best warriors in our kingdom,” Kaycen says, stepping closer. “So instead of a regular pack run, we host pack fights on Fridays. Or, more popularly called, Friday fights. Anyone can challenge everyone. But you can always refuse if you do not want to do it.” I feel a slow smile spread across my face. My blood runs hot at the thought of it. It has been far too long since I really pushed myself in a ring, and my body aches for a brutal workout.

"Don't gamble with your life just because you're pissed at Kevin! Get rid of that thing from God knows where, now!" I looked at the screen full of warnings and replied, "You're overthinking it. I didn't fight him. Am I the type to vent with violence?" The typing indicator on her end paused for a long time before a new message popped up: "Then how, exactly, did you blow off steam last night?" I replied nonchalantly, "Let's just say... the most primal way." We both fell silent. The underground fight club was a meat grinder with no rules. It was filled with undocumented people with nowhere else to go and abandoned kids who'd been sold off.

Moving to the corner, we both stand and observe the first fight that is going on in the training area as all of the others stand in a circle, cheering their favorites. "What is the rule?" Crossing my hands behind my back, I observe the fight. One of the fighters is in wolve form while the other is still fighting in human form. "Only one, that is no rule." His answer made me raise my eyebrow in curiosity because this seemed interesting. "When it comes to real fights, there are no rules. So everyone should be prepared to expect anything because the enemy you are facing will not play by the rule book. They are ruthless and merciless and will do anything to end your life." Skye asked in a whisper. There was a cage-looking fight ring in the middle of the room. Before I could answer her question, Skye whispered again, so I waited for her to finish her words before I replied. “I have seen something like this in a movie scene. Don’t tell me these kinds of death fights really exist in real life?” she asked with disbelief and horror. “You’re actually right,” I answered gently. “This kind of fight only ends when one of the fighters dies….” I said while cautiously and discreetly observing our surroundings.
