And what's your preference?” I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts, and replied, “Well, I like a milder flavor, so I go for a medium roast. And, um, I usually have mine with a splash of milk.” Nate nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. “Interesting. I'm more of a dark roast person myself, and I take it black. Dark roast is best, but your weak medium will do.” He said as he nudged her side with his elbow. “How can you drink that? You made it a cup of pure sugar.”

I sat on the barstool on the left and pulled the bowl in front of me, closer. The hot steam drifted towards my nose and I inhaled deeply.
