I am Rey Reed Smith, the last of the reaper's hunters and the wielder of the soul nectar. Taking another deep breath, I quickened my pace as the noise of those stupid crowds grew more intense. It was the same sound I'd grown accustomed to; it meant one of their most vicious and important players was about to slay his victims. My plan is simple. I will just brag into the arena ground, slaughter their players, rescue my team, kill the bastard, Ryan, and find my way out. I knew that with my newfound power, I was invisible to any weapons they were welding and that none of their players, not even Ryan, were a match for my abilities now.

Looking onto the figure of the giant that seemed to embody death itself, Mane chuckled wordlessly and said, “Hello, Reaper.”

he said, his voice low, a rough rasp of calm. Reaper stepped inside, the hallway light casting him in long, intimidating shadows that stretched across the floor. His leather cut hung open over a black shirt, and his dark jeans were grease-stained, familiar signs of his world. There was something off in his posture—shoulders tense, but not in that calculated, ready-to-fight way. This was something else. Worn. Like he carried a weight no one else saw. He glanced at the untouched sandwich on the small table by the window. “You planning on starving yourself?”

By the end of it, both of them are barely holding themselves together. “Tell me what I need to know and I’ll let you leave," I tell them, wiping the blood from my hands. “Okay—okay,” one of them gasps, his voice shaking. “We’ll talk. We’ll talk.” I straighten slowly, stepping back just enough to give them space to breathe; behind me, I hear Reaper scoff. “Took you long enough,” he mutters. “I would’ve had them talking in fifteen.” A short, humorless chuckle leaves me as I wipe my hand against my jeans. No one can beat the great Reaper at this.”

I whispered, my voice barely audible. The Reaper laughed, the sound cold and menacing. "We'll see about that," he said, his eyes glinting with anticipation. The Reaper's bored expression was a stark contrast to the chaos unfolding before him. His men continued to kick me, each blow landing with a sickening thud. I coughed up blood, my body wracked with pain. Tears streamed down my face, but I refused to beg. I knew that's what The Reaper wanted - for me to break, to plead for mercy. But I'd had enough of being at the mercy of men like him.

I wasn’t mindless. But if a reason and an opportunity came knocking? My lips slowly stretched into something wilder, something unhinged as chaos broke around me. A soft laugh bubbled up, low and amused. “Haha…” Oh, I would take it. I would take it and tear everyone apart. I would shed blood. I remained where I was as people ran, stumbling over themselves, screaming like preys that hadn't realized who the true predator was. “It’s the Four Reapers—run! Run!”

The other studs paused in their reacks Reaper had just walked through the gate.
