It’s… it’s in the cookbooks.” We stared, spatulas and whisks frozen. Lina was the first to recover. “The what corps?”

“Except for the new Nesmir Christie book, they did.” “Darn it, that book is the one we need to boost our new membership drive.” Her boss sounded aggrieved. “We did get the new books by Devlin Geris and John Rood.” She held up a copy each of the two writers whom she considered among the best in the business. “Hm, I suppose those will have to do.” Hamby shrugged indifferently. “We could get them to do a reading here at the library...” Doris looked at her boss expectantly. “Or at least one of them, John Rood maybe... ”

I did also have a desk to do work but it could be put away and looked like a regular bookshelf against a fake window. This was my little hide away. Originally, I was only able to get into the library and not the school itself but the past few years, I’d been given access to both. Today was the first day I’d been caught in the morning. Even the new Librarian was notified of the space being mine even after I graduated. However, I wouldn’t need it. All of it would get moved into Rebecca’s room as soon as I trashed everything that was left.

“Staying up late means in our houses, sir! We can’t possibly use the library all the time!” He then looked at Miss Minchin. “Miss Minchin?” The librarian still looked all amused. “Miss Diwa was the only person who finished that thesis proposal, inside my library, using my library's computers. I helped her so many times with the books that she might find helpful.” She then scowled at the girls. “And, you three, I have never even seen you before, especially in my library with Miss Diwa when she was busy rushing all your parts. Tell me, honestly, where do you get this audacity, huh?”

Lizz said, furling her eyebrows in thought. “Well yeah, does seem odd…hang on, what did you call your boss?” Rex asked, changing his topic when he heard the words ‘curator’ like he had heard that title somewhere before. “Your idea of exciting and mine are two different things girl” Nessa said with a slight chuckle and an eye roll. Pinching her face to Nessa, she turned to face Rex, “She is the Head Librarian, Curator Ocron, she is in charge of the great library here.”
