There’s a beat of silence. Then Tomas says, “Sounds like a fun Friday afternoon.”
We all laugh—harder than the joke deserves. But tension has to go somewhere.
“Who else is coming with us?” Kai asks.
A portal opens 20 feet away, answering the question for me. Out walks Puck with five fairies, five elves with longbows, ten dwarves, some goblins, three selkies, and five cat shifters of some kind.
“Our little army’s arrived,” I say, getting up. I pull out the bag of Swedish Fish I packed and toss it to Puck as he approaches.
