BILLIONAIRE'S LIES

BILLIONAIRE'S LIES

A murmur spread within the room. "Technical difficulties?" "What's going on?" Clarisse's heart leapt. The file. The slides. All that they had prepared destroyed? Jenny glanced at Saben swiftly. "It's not from this side. The system's rejecting the file type." Saben's jaw clenched. "Then we'll do it live." Clarisse's eyes widened. "Live? Without slides?" He turned to her, steady but unyielding. "We know our data. We know our vision. That's all we need."

The Bodyguards boy

The Bodyguards boy

Rowan didn’t answer. His eyes stayed fixed on the top corner of the screen on the timestamp ticking forward in quiet precision. Seconds. Minutes. Then A skip. So small it almost passed as nothing. Rowan’s fingers stilled. “There,” he said. Taryn stepped closer. “What?” He pointed. “The time.” She leaned in, squinting slightly. “…it jumps.” “Yeah.” “By how much?” Rowan dragged the cursor back, slower this time. “Forty-seven seconds.”

Betrayed By My Husband, Became His Greatest Nightmare

Betrayed By My Husband, Became His Greatest Nightmare

Then— A micro-stutter. Barely visible. Frame skip between 22:52 and 22:53. I zoomed in. Timecode increment jumped by 1.8 seconds. Not compression artifact. Manual edit. Small. Precise. Calculated. My pulse steadied. He hadn’t fabricated. He had omitted. The door opening at 22:50. The frame skip at 22:52. What happened in those two seconds? I replayed again. And there it was.

The Alpha's Forgotten Bloodline

The Alpha's Forgotten Bloodline

The Weight of the Secret The technical challenge was immense. To hide the "skimming" of energy, Kael had to manually override the Conservation Equations in the Central Controller. He had to make the Auditors believe that the lost energy was just "Transmission Loss" or "Tidal Friction" within the Aetheric Elevator.

SHATTERED ICE:One rink, bound by betrayal

SHATTERED ICE:One rink, bound by betrayal

A digital hiccup, half a beat of silence, then the music resumed slightly out of sync with where their bodies were. Samantha adjusted. Anthony adjusted. They finished the opening sequence on different internal counts and it showed in the spacing. Vera stopped them. She walked to the sound table at the side of the rink and spoke quietly to the technician. They ran the track from the beginning. It stuttered again in the same place. The technician looked at his laptop with the expression of a man who understood exactly what had gone wrong and did not want to say it out loud. "File corruption," he said.

The Scandalous Step Siblings: First Enemies, Then Lovers

The Scandalous Step Siblings: First Enemies, Then Lovers

"The manager needs an emergency audio patch on the third track. Official orders!" The technician looked skeptical, but the house lights suddenly died. The arena erupted. A wall of sound hit me—a physical force of screaming fans that made the floorboards shake. In the darkness, the technician turned back to his monitors. This was my only window. I slipped around the side of the main console. I saw the input for the show’s master drive. I pulled out Javier’s flash drive. My hands were shaking so violently I nearly dropped it. Just like the basement, Anya, I told myself. Find the heartbeat.

Seems like an okay story…. But I absolutely hate it when the synopsis tells you the story will be about one thing and the story itself is about something completely different. I was really hoping for the story reflected in the overview, and 300 chapters in… it isn’t.

I really like this book, but I'm feeling sorry for Zachary. I wished they would soften Joey's personality up. She comes off cold. The author needs to bring them together soon and form an alliance and wrap this book up.

The Alpha’s Pretty Mistake

The Alpha’s Pretty Mistake

One moment she was there, the next she was not. “Wait.” I leaned closer, eyes narrowing. “Back it up. Focus on the front gate.” The technician complied. At the edge of the frame, a black car rolled up. Sleek, tinted windows. Out of place among the beat-up student vehicles and teacher sedans. But then the footage jumped. A sudden blur, a skip in the recording. When it resumed, the car was gone. Langley frowned. “That shouldn’t be possible. Our system has safeguards—”

RED HOT STORIES (A COLLECTION OF ST*AMY STORIES)

RED HOT STORIES (A COLLECTION OF ST*AMY STORIES)

“You were speaking but then you… stopped.” I glanced at the teleprompter–no glitching. “Oh," I murmured, forcing a dry chuckle as I began reading the scrolling texts. “I… I, uh, was saying that I actually have been working toward trying to see if I can connect with the fans who can't afford to be at the convention…” It came again–the glitch. More noticeable now. The cheering from the crowd paused, the flashing lights halted, like it was cut clean, then resumed like someone hit play again.
