I laughed, and he seemed to relax a bit more.
“Answer,” he insisted.
“He’s different from all the men I’ve ever known,” I replied.
“In what way?” he asked.
“He makes me feel safe, loved, and happy. In my previous relationships, everything was very toxic: a lot of jealousy, fights. It wasn’t love. Love is gentle, light,” I explained.
“I don’t think so. I think if you don’t have jealousy, it’s because you don’t love,” he countered.
“And what do you know about love? As far as I know, you’ve never had a girlfriend,” I retorted.
