My body twisted, trapped in my wolf form, unable to shift back. I growled lowly, but she was gone before I could react. With a final look of contempt, she left, slamming the door behind her.I ran.

Turns out the werewolves won, and the witches surrendered simply because they were a fucking lot stronger than we'll ever be and we are dying for no reason so they believed it was better to surrender, the alpha of the werewolves will soon take over the throne." Mira said and all the blood drained from Alicia's face.

The last thing I needed was more trouble. By afternoon, the trees thinned out and the path joined a bigger road. I saw other travelers. A group of young mages chatting about academy entrance tests. A merchant with a cart full of glowing potions. I joined the flow of people, keeping my head down and listening. "Did you hear about the witch at the werewolf execution?" one mage whispered to his friend. "They say she grew dragon wings and disappeared. The Alpha King is furious. He has patrols out everywhere." I kept my face blank and walked past them. My heart beat faster. Kael really was not giving up. Good thing I looked nothing like the girl they burned at the stake.

I seize the opportunity, launching a final decisive blow that sends her stumbling backward, defeated. Finally, realizing her defeat is imminent, the witch retreats, vanishing into the shadows. And she helped Anakiyus escape. He's still alive.”

“I offer you a pact, witch. A promise that, if you reveal the truth about your dealings, I won’t reveal anything to the council and pay you more than Hawk.” The witch’s eyes narrowed, studying Cayden intently. “More than Hawk?” she repeated, her voice laced with a mix of curiosity and scepticism. Cayden nodded solemnly. A silence fell between them, the weight of their words hanging heavy in the air. The witch’s gaze flickered, her resolve wavering as she considered Cayden’s proposition. Finally, the witch broke the silence, her voice laced with caution. “Very well, Alpha Cayden. I will tell you what you seek. As soon as were back at the castle and I had her safely imprisoned, I’d let her go. “I didn’t know you could do that,” Kaiya said. “Why didn’t you do that with the other two?” I shrugged and let the witch go. “I don’t like witches.” I turned to the young she-wolf. “Run back to the harem room. Set the others free. Wait for me there until I come to get you.” The girl nodded and turned right around, running back the way we came. “You,” I said and snapped my fingers at the witch. “Take us to the Alpha.”
