Estelle's POV The call connected. Beep— It rang once. Then disconnected. I froze. No, it wasn't a signal issue. I dialed again. Beep—beep— The call ended before the second ring finished. Hung up again. Laughter erupted around me. A whistle. "Not very popular, sweetheart." My nails dug into my palms, pain sharp enough to bring me back to reality. Third time. This is it. I told myself. The call finally went through.

Set the mug down. Then I stand, stretch, and head inside to answer the next ping on the system. Because that’s what we do. We keep choosing. Forever.

Unbelievable. I don’t know why it bothers me so much. But I’m fueled by that simple annoyance amplified by a thousand when adding the fact that Paisley is the messenger. I click on the notification, opening up a string of text messages between the two girls. It’s mostly one-sided. Paisley asking for favors. Or demanding Piper’s help. There’s one of her telling Piper her outfit was almost slutty at the party last weekend with an LOL to supposedly cushion the insult. I grind my teeth.

The intermittent sound of the beeping device gets louder and faster. " Now it's my turn to try to redeem myself with you, Peter. You need to wake up so we can talk, remember? You know what I'm talking about." I say and squeeze your hand to make sure you really hear me. And once again the immediate return. Peter wiggles his fingers. And move again. The device beeps faster and faster. Beep beep beep beep… "Peter? Peter, wake up, my friend. Please…" Beep, beep…

Taking a deep breath, Penny steeled herself. [Mr. Fergerson, haven’t we agreed on it?] After another half an hour, Caleb finally replied. [Didn’t we agree on ten times?] What a nonchalant attitude. Weston wrapped his arms around Stella from behind and nuzzled against the nape of her neck, his gestures full of longing. “Let me hug you just a little longer, okay? I promise I won’t ever bother you again after this.” Stella, unsurprisingly, did not take him at his word. He had promised her the exact same thing so many times before, yet none of it came to pass. He always ended up pestering her again within days of saying that.

He won't quit whining about something that happened six years ago. "Now here's where it gets interesting, you left your mansion and fired all your staff even though you gave them compensation that will set them up for life. You moved out to another mansion on the outskirts of town and we hardly see you unless I come by to your office." Reed said with his brow raised. I close my eyes as I heaved a deep sigh, good thing he's done. I was beginning to feel frustrated. "Are you done with your nonsense? You won't stop saying the same thing over and over again. I'm tired of hearing it, it's becoming boring. So like I said earlier, give me all the necessary details that I need." I said and Reed frow

And she had to say it. I grumbled, and rolled my eyes. "Forget about that. Let's continue what we've started. Don't spoil this right now." "We can do this later," she continued to convince me. "The phone has rung for a second time now. You also know that no one calls you more than one time, if it's not important." "Common…" I scrunched my face as I felt irritated by her clamor. "I'm so much in the mood to—"

Tristian doesn't shift his glance from me while I try my best to not run towards the forest and hide behind the trees. "Again?" Tessa looks at me. "You didn't tell me," Tessa complains through the mind link. Idiot! "Leave that! Will you take a selfie with me? I'll let my followers know that I met the real Barbie." Peter pulls out his phone in sheer excitement. Another idiot! "Why didn't you tell me?" Tessa keeps nagging me through the mind link. Argh! I can't take this anymore! "Shut up, all of you!" I silence all three, not missing the amusement lighting up in Tristian's defined face."You!" I glare at him.

It was Leander, calling me as if he were on his deathbed. I cut his call, again and again, wanting to finish my dinner peacefully without hearing his screeching voice. As soon as the calls finished, he began messaging me. Where are you? Reply to me. Call me. I told you to be home and you're not here yet, little mouse. I rolled my eyes at his message and placed the spoon down before typing a message of my own to him. 'I'm literally in the middle of something. Can you bother me at another time? And I told you, I'll come back when I wish to. Stop bugging me and get a life.' As soon as I sent the message, he read it and began calling me again.
