I didn't want to watch that unravel in front my eyes. While I quickly scuttle to my room, I find Ethel in the hallway. "Thank heavens I have found you. I have been looking for you." Ethel mutters gaining my attention. "There is something I think that might help." she pulled me to Evanna's study which was just at the end of the hallway. "Here," Ethel pointed at the covered big book with a golden cover. "Do you think it can help me locate the stone?" I ask anxiously. "I think so. This book has been with Evanna for as long as I know and I think it can help." she pursues her lips.

And like a defeated soul, I sluggishly ducked out my head from the window. I watched him wind up the glass as I took unsteady steps backward. I tried steadying my steps but my knees felt really wobbly and my body wasn't any better. I think that's what happens when reality hits you brutally, giving you no heads-up. My eyes flew open. It opened. Pages ripped themselves free, fluttering until one stopped in the center. The world held its breath. My chest hammered so loud I thought the lantern would shatter; the letters on the page pulsed under my palms like a second heartbeat:

If not, you cannot access this book." I shake my head in denial and flip through the rest of the pages, only to find them blank. Perfect waste of time. I slide the book back onto the shelf and take a book on cyclones instead. "I'll settle for this tonight," I say, raising the book, but her gaze remains fixed on The Book of Reborns. After a moment, she peels her eyes off it, nods at me, and returns to her chair.
