Mates at War: A Battle of Hearts

Mates at War: A Battle of Hearts

he barked, "you should focus on your own duties instead of questioning mine. Darius has earned this promotion, and it’s long overdue." Rowon didn’t respond immediately, but I could feel the tension rolling off him in waves. His fists tightened on the table as he struggled to keep his composure. Meanwhile, my father turned back to the rest of the room, effectively dismissing Rowon’s objection. "From now on, Darius will not only be our warrior but our chief commander. His authority will stand just as strong as mine." The room erupted in applause again, and I couldn’t help but glance at Darius. He gave me a small, almost imperceptible smile, but it was enough to make my heart do a little flip.

Moonshadow: The Full Saga

Moonshadow: The Full Saga

Alpha and mate. Storm and stone. Two voices woven. Then a third howl joined. Rhea’s. Sharp and bright. A fourth. Rebel’s, slightly off-key but no less fierce. More. From all around. Warriors. Omegas. Healers. Pups trying out their small, cracking voices. The sound swelled. Trembled the air. The courtyard filled with it, every stone vibrating. It was not a neat, choreographed chorus. Some howls were too high.

The stolen lycan princess

The stolen lycan princess

I can hear the low growl of voices merging into a powerful murmur, a chorus of resolve that echoes through the clearing. This is it, time for battle, time to make a stand for what is right… but I surely wish we did not have to. As I stand at the forefront with River and my father, I catch glimpses of the warriors lining up behind us. They shift slightly, muscles taut and ready, their eyes gleaming with determination. The sound of armor clinking and weapons being readied resonates around us, a symphony of preparation that fills me with both dread and exhilaration. The very ground seems to vibrate beneath my feet, a primal reminder of the power we wield and the fight we are about to face.

VOWS IN THE WAR ROOM

VOWS IN THE WAR ROOM

“Cruel.” “Effective,” I said, and left before my voice broke. The corridor smelled like fresh polish and hidden money. I moved fast, barefoot in slippers, robe swinging around my legs. I took the west stairs like Renaud told me, and I didn’t stop for anyone. The war room door waited at the end of a hall that didn’t exist on most house tours. No family portraits. No soft lighting. Just a sealed quiet. I had learned the code. That part still made my skin crawl.

The Twins He Never Knew

The Twins He Never Knew

From the shadows of the rotting buildings, the low, rhythmic beat of a drum began. Thump. Thump. Thump. It wasn't a frequency. It was a war-drum. And it was coming from everywhere.

The Rejected Blood Moon

The Rejected Blood Moon

“Rewrite.” --- The Pulse War Begins Without warning, Requiem raised its hands. The moons across the sky flared—gold, red, silver—then pulsed out of sync. The Heart convulsed, its rhythm splitting. Every living being in the cosmos felt the discord. Some screamed. Some wept. Some sang in madness. Creation itself began to vibrate between two opposing tempos— the original Heartbeat, and Requiem’s Counter-Rhythm. Seren fell to her knees, clutching her chest as her pulse doubled.

Love and War

Love and War

Raven’s point of view. I was tied up in a dark room, with my hands and legs tried, and a gag put in my mouth. I scanned the room and saw four other girls like me, with our body covered with thin, transparent fabric. I gritted my teeth as I thought of how to free myself from the alpha of Blood Moon’s pack, but just then I heard footsteps approaching the room. “We must do as he says, if we ever want to end this war and get back our soldiers that he is holding captive.” A voice said.

My Alpha, My War

My Alpha, My War

He remained mute for a moment, then he rubbed his temple in a bid of frustration, “I’ll talk to the others if that’s what you’re asking. We’ll move the tree tonight.” The flicker of hope had turned into a whole ray within the blink of an eye. I smiled, for the first time since the moon goddess herself chose me. At this pace, I was to be done with the trials and go back to the comfort for my home and resume my healing. I would’ve brought peace to the three lands, ending the war of the Alphas once and for all….i would be left alone finally. “We should go.” Buck murmured from behind me, “Congrats Luna, you’re quicker than I expected.”

The War Ended, My Life Began

The War Ended, My Life Began

He carried Lydia away, leaving me standing alone by the fence. I watched them go, a searing pain tearing through my chest. But I turned and walked toward the woods at the edge of town. I had something important to do. I knew exactly who I’d find there. There was Sebastian Whitmore lying there. The high-ranking military officer who’d taken a liking to the young war hero and mentored him, opening every door for Julian. In my last life, he'd helped Julian rise through the ranks, reaching a senior position at a remarkably young age.

I don't think I can finish reading this because these mistakes are so bad & stupid. Brooklyn is part of NYC, it's not a tiny town. And even in 1945, you can't get into Vassar with somebody else's acceptance letter unless you also steal their identity. She could enroll even without the letter.

I enjoyed the story as it is different from others of this ilk. Just keep in mind that her rebirth starts in 1945, the next year the writer mentions is 1952,..and the reader is left adrift after that....

The Alpha Betrayed Mate

The Alpha Betrayed Mate

War has a rhythm. You don’t hear it at first. You think it’s chaos, noise, blood and fury colliding without meaning. But once you’ve stood in the middle of it, once you’ve felt it move through you, you realise… It’s not chaos. It’s a pulse. And that day, as I stood at the edge of Silvercrest with the Darkbreeds behind me, I could feel it. Steady. Building. Waiting. I had come back for one thing.
