Her eyes were wide with a frantic, darting terror. "You shouldn't have come," she breathed, casting a glance toward the balcony. "Rhea, he’s not who you think he is. None of them are." Behind her, the balcony door slid open. Finn stood there, the wind whipping his hair across his face. He looked different, more like a predator in his own den. He held a glass of amber liquid in one hand, and in the other, a small, black remote. "She’s right, Rhea," Finn said, his voice devoid of the desperation from the night before. "You really should ha... ha... ha..."

The shadows, like tendrils of smoke, began to encircle them, their whispers growing more insistent and chilling. "Leave now... or remain forever," one shadow hissed, its voice echoing. Elara's voice shook with a mix of fear and anger. "We're not leaving without Darius!" Liora, eyes sharp, began tracing patterns in the air with her fingers, chanting an ancient spell. The ground beneath them started to vibrate. "Quickly, Rhys, figure out those runes. I can't hold them off for long." Rhys focused intently on the mirror, muttering to himself as he tried different combinations of the runes. "Binding, connection, unity... I need a sequence that resonates with their power."

I breathed. “The Dark Elves’ mountains,” Rivyn replied grimly. “The Elves are cousins to the Fae,” he said quietly as he encouraged Coryfe to move forwards. The horse did not like the location, reacting to the sulphur smell of the soil, and communicated his dislike through his movement, each step reluctant as if he anticipated the ground would disappear before him.

The tree was alive with pixies and magic and the branches were strung with stardust that shimmered in the afternoon light. Riven who was now back in his human form gathered Layla into his arms and walked towards the tree. His body moved through it and appeared on the other side, still holding Layla. Apparently, the large tree was the doorway that led to her home. Riven was only allowed to pass through it because she already knew he was coming. On the other side, a beautiful view met his eyes. A vast land, filled with fairies and fae, pixies and woodland creatures. Tall trees beautified the earth and at the centre of it all was a beautiful water fall that sparkled in the bright sunlight.

Veyra could almost hear the thoughts racing behind her mother's eyes. "They're closing in," Maelin said softly. Rune arrived next, summoned by the shift in wind and magic. His entrance was calm, quiet, his blue eyes taking in the rising tension like he'd seen it all before. After listening to Zevi's account, he glanced to Veyra, then to Maelin. "There are sacred places," he said. "Places only the old blood remember. Hidden in the bones of this land. If we move her now—"

Thorin jumped forward and swung his hammer horizontally across his front and multiple destructive thunderbolts stroke the ground and Rogue creating a large explosion that tore through several acres of land. “What do you have to offer, Son of the God King.”
